    My 03 Yukon XL had the same issue, no driver side seat controls and no heat on either front seat. Did the exact repair on the orange wire, put in a spade connector like you did and everything works as it should now. Thank you!!

    Thanks! I was able to jump it to move the seat. The seat was stuck, laying back for over 6 months. 😆

    You did a good video and I would like to recommend that you use insulated spade connectors.

    I have seen videos that the grounds on the GMC vehicles during those year models are bad. There was a short recall, don’t know it there still is where GM will repair them

    I'm having the same problem. About to find out if we have the same solution!

    Got the same issue, how is it holding up now? I also have an air bag light on too too, did you have the light and msg aswell?

      It held up just fine. I think there was some resistance in the connector and that caused the heat and the connector melting. Once I got the spade lugs on there the connection has been great.
      For the air bag, I don't remember an air bag light. I would use a scanner to see if it yields a code that calls for replacing the sensor. I have had to replace that air bag sensor a couple of times. Good luck!

    hey man nice video. I was wondering if you know what the yellow wires are for. I have a 06 gmc sierra and the other day smoke started coming from my passenger seat, I looked under there and it was the yellow wire smoking. I disconnected the connecter but i want to fix it.

    I’m having the same problem with my 2005 H2. Just seen that the orange wire is melted. What does this wire control?

      What I found was the power seat on the driver side and the seat heaters on passenger and driver side. But it was straight off of the battery so it could be used to power more things.

      @@atrofa1913 Sorry for the late reply. It is repeatable? or was this a one time event?

      @doublee421 I just kept tugging on wire and it started working again.

    You need to find out why those two wires are melted there's a reason there's a short somewhere. You might need to carry a fire extinguisher with you

    • @doublee421
      @doublee421  ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right, it is definitely concerning. My theory is that it is overloaded. The way that the housing melted and the wire it seems like it was running high current for a longer period of time. If it were a true short the breaker should catch that. Seems to me that the breaker is oversized and allowing more current to run to power the heater & driver seat.

    Will this work for a 05 Cadillac Escalade esv?

      Hello, I can't say for sure. It is GM, so I imagine there is some design reusage. I tried to detail the circuits that feed into the seat heater prior to showing my actual issue. That way you can check several possible failure points. Happy to help anyway I can.
