I had trouble in boot camp myself. I didn't pass the swim test initially and for various other reasons got transferred to another division. However, I still got through because if you ultimately give them reasons to stay in- like pass your PRT, academic exams, swim test- you will prevail. Boot camp will get easier after the first few weeks. Those "twins" I'll bet didn't really want to stay in, if they got out after only two weeks of training. I did get out of the Navy for medical reasons but was during my second enlistment as a second class petty officer.
You'll do fine Nicole! I'm a retired Navy Chief married to a Naval Officer now stationed in Spain. The Navy was & still is the best part of my adult life, I love watching these videos because they take me back to a "Happy Place" I loved every minute of my 23 years in the Navy. Once you get out of Boot Camp, you'll see and experience what the USN is all about. You see and do things that your friends back home can only imagine! Stay Focused
tommygunzus I chose the Navy because I know it will create a very positive impact in my life. I didn’t want want to be dependent on my parents until I manage to get a job, so I signed up before I graduated high school :) I hope to get stationed in Spain, I’ve always dreamed of going to Spain :) I know it’ll be a wonderful experience, it’s just the thought of leaving home (which I’ve never done) and being on my own that scares me. Also thank you both for your service! :)
you'll be fine! The best decision you'll ever make! Just take the leap of faith, lol. I though the same exact way when I left home, now my mom get's upset cause I don't visit enough, only because I've witnessed what the world has to offer! Good Luck to you, Spain is AWESOME!!!!
I LOVE your down-to-earth, encouraging energy. Thank you, Sis. I'll be enlisting soon... at the age of 34. I'll be going in as an E-3... praying to get an MC job because I'm close to finishing a degree in Graphic Design and I love photography, video production, writing, etc. Going through Basic at my age is not an enticing idea, so it's nice to hear words of encouragement.
Lol I'm so glad I learned how to tie knots in JROTC omg ...I'm prepared but not physically ofc. I'm planning to take swimming lessons too. I have a WHOLE list before I join. Thank you for the videos
I understand, things have drastically changed since my Navy Days( 1992-1997). Calling a Company Commander Petty Officers seems weird to me, since back in my days it was " Aye Sir, No Sir." It wasn't until we graduated we were allowed to call them Chiefs or Petty Officers by their ranks. I can still close my eyes and be back in Great Mistakes in an instant. Petty Officer Pope aka "The Ghost" still gives me daymares to this day. lol.. Semper Fortis Shipmates... Hm3 Ringo A. Ortiz..
Good luck to all the shippers, I went through Great Mistakes in 2008 (we didn't even have the NWU type ones yet (blue cammies) we had to wear utilities still and IRON them every day), and here I am 10 years later about to attend OCS to become a Surface Warfare Officer, time flies.
Do you know if they lied about their medical history? Or did they suddenly become sick/hurt? Also could it have been because their Tricare records came out? Because i heard they can’t look at your medical records.
N'Dierra do they automatically look at your records? Or do you have to give them a reason to look at them? My mom was in the military, but she got out like 8 years ago. And i go to bootcamp in November, and i don’t really remember what’s on there.

Been on that, thankfully it help me get up to 100 lbs. Maintaining it is the hard part. Fast metabolism is no joke. But I'll start that one gallon a day. Haven't tried that
Y'all had curtains???? I went thru in 95 and the stalls didn't have doors or curtains. The head in the drill hall didn't have a walls in between the stalls.
Boot camp 84 Orlando that,s nothing. The cc,s would get your ass on the grinder , pushups with that old m1 rifle jumping jacks lot,s of pt they didn't care if u cried.

Why not finish your degree and attempt to get PAO (Political affairs officer, similar to MC) and attend OCS to become a Naval Officer?

yes i know for sure one was tricare records. tricare is the only medical record they can look up (because its military insurance).
