The hard part is knowing when to stop. Very true - we've all seen that Fr Ted episode where he was trying to get that tiny dent out of the car!
jix177 ah the old blue rover lol great episode it was 😂
Another great video Adrian, and fair play to the man from decal shed, you will be putting my 14 year old Bomford Kestrel to shame mate.😬👍🙂
Great job. Love to see good machines tidied up cosmetically ....freshens up its appearance and increases the value of the machine.... looking forward to seeing the finished job
Nice work. Great to see older machines being cared for. The levers are supposed to be different lengths but if its not comfy for your use then I think the tractor gods would forgive u.
Try Frank Alviti for knobs. He's the largest UK mcconnel dealer. Comes up easily on a Google server
You'll not regret buying a hedgecutter. Fierce easy to get used to and they do great work. We bit the bullet and bought a Spearhead Twiga 470 2 years ago. Very happy with the work its doing. 👍😀 I'm looking forward to see the end result as I've no doubt it will be like new after your done with it.
Happy days lad , u finally got her uploaded 😁👍👍👍
Just a thought from your video from the cleaning of your cubicle shed when you mentioned the wall colouring. If you mix a quarter bag of cement in a d90 or similar bucket and apply with a soft headed floor brush it would do a good job.Only thing is you would need to stir regularly as cement will settle in bottom and you don't get a consistent cover.
I'm getting addicted to this channel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It's amazing what a coat of paint does for machinery. I have seen an old machine after being painted sell for more than a 5 year newer machine and the newer one was in better condition except for the paint work
@@philipoconnor2236 it's amazing what you can sell at auction
That's the cleanest slat floor I've ever seen
Different lengths of the levers is normal for those .ours has a fourth lever black which is also short
Wow, this is a huge effort. It is really same as restoration. It will look like new when you have finished. Interested to see the completed project. Good luck !🍀👍
Bought my hedge cutter 10 years ago pproblem now is getting time cut the hedges and into fields back end there so wet but still get more done than a contractor best luck with her ps put it on the case don't damage the massey
There one place I would never work on machinery and that is on slats great looking hedge cutter 👍
Fantastic to see some who takes alot pride in there machinery well done love video s
You might want to put up some tarps or hand sheets of plastic. It will create a make shift spray booth. Then the heaters can help dry the paint..
Had ferri with cables I shorten ones for arm and head and left the drive one long made huge difference handy to know about decal lad must get deutz agrotron ones
Great stuff ! I'm surprised more farmers don't have a hedge cutter , great idea 👍👍
how much does one like adrians cost and what hp required?
@@johncrosse9964 i would think it requires around 80 hp maybe?
@@johncrosse9964 Make sure the tractor has weight so you don't tip over on any steep land
Weight is the most important thing if your planning on working on hilly ground
@@IFarmWeFarm I have a claas axos 340 that would be to light wouldn't it
Just discovered the channel, so you maybe have already covered in another video, but maybe you could cover what tools your using? Great content, keep up the good work.
Daveynic2 keep an eye out for this Sunday’s video. We’re talking about equipment we use
Enjoyed the equipment video, but I was meant if you could mention/discuss what tools your using to restore the hedge cutter in a part. Saw a few tools in background and would be interested to hear what you think works well.
Keep them as thay r. It stops your fingers getting stuck. Trust me
Yes the lever are a like that
Great video Adrian. Thanks for the info on the Decals. Great job It will be like new when you're finished. 🐩😁
Great job👌don't think I could work over slats I'm too clumsy 😂
You seem like a stand up kind of fella. Great videos 👍
Eamon Keane cheers mate
the camera quality looks really good for some reason
Odhran Byrne Canon GX7 Mark iii, don’t like the auto focus though
We have a McConnell PA25 and the controls Handles are different heights
i know its hard to have content every week but i love your videos and would love if u cud upload more then once a week
The balls on the levers look similar to the 895 spool value leavers. I’m sure the 85 serious with 3 spool banks had a black, green, yellow balls
Good video you keep your machinery well looked after credit to you Adrian
Amazing video
Where are you getting most of your McConnell parts?
Dean Curtin mostly from Clarkes Machinery Cavan
Few amber strobes would look well on the gaurd
Sean Brady there in the plans
Can u pls do a part 2 on the loader on the case
Great stuff again
Great video adrian, did ya have a radio going to keep ya entertained during the sanding?
If shes not blue she'll not do be lost without it 👍
Wire wheel on the grinder for stickers much faster
Il check tomra I tink iv 2 of em some wher I had a 93 .15 years a go if I can get em ul b welcome 2 them
Brendan Meegan cheers lad
Hi ya iv 1 leaver the same and 1 leaver same stem different knob
Wouldnt want a spanner or bolt fall through the slats when working on the head 😜😜
Have to be extra careful as its happened in the past and knowing me it'll happen again
The three levers are ment to be different hights or at least the ones we have are the exact same
How much cows do you milk and good video
Its around 50-60 I think
Ya have a good tractor for her Adrain and will ya start a business wit dis trimmer😆😆 and is der any more news on the case
Griffin Woods it’s always an option 😉
Any more news on the case
John Crosse next week hopefully, waiting on our mechanic
1143 that plate will probabley help to streghened it
What did you use as degreaser?
Looks a good clean job after wash
I got it in an auto shop ''Carplan Tetroclean'' Mighty stuff
Is there a separate cable for the starting of the rotar
Jamie Quinn not on this one no, only 3 cables
You should have three levers one for lifting the arm up and down
One for pushing the arm out and taking it in
And one for crowing your head
Then have a separate lever for starting the rotar
@@IFarmWeFarm semi independant ........pump only drives the head .........arms are wirked off the tractor hydraulics .,,,,,,,,,,,, the tractor should give a grunt when you engage the head when the oil is cold if the pump is good ..............had one here was a wreck as it came from a contractor back in the day when u could cut all year round ..........looked terrible but went fine ........was traded in for a 93 that came from the uk .....looked as new not a mark on it .......but wore out inside .........chopped it in for a pa 500 semi independant , good but heavy ............
Do you have a bull or do you do AI
D C all AI at present, sometimes run a clean up continental
Some job
If you give the size of the plate for the head you are going to weld . I cut you plate from hardox 450 . . 4 mm or 5mm not suir but could have some 3.5mm plate . If you want . You can have it for free . Can you collect from carlow .
Stone will not mark it .hardox 450 same plate in tipper body and sides that I use in Thompson truckbodys . Have off cuts in the yard .
Love the videos and all your very tasty work Adrian, if there is any hydrogen sulphide coming up through those slats mind you could get a nice pop with a blue flash under your feet when u weld the plate on ! Dermot
Forgot to say to add water to cement in previous comment.
Golf ball knobs
Have someone with a 3D printer print some for u
My dad uses gold balls instead of buying the balls

Google luck with your refeb"
