What part do we upgrade next?!
The concept behind this series is simple; start with a brand new complete bike and upgrade it one part at a time the way someone actually might if they bought a complete BMX bike. The start is a Fit PRK medium and in this episode we upgrade the cranks! Next is the session where we ride this bike and really see what it is capable of as well as how well it holds up in an honest way!

If you don't have any extra washers handy, you could keep the ones with the hook, you just have to rotate them so that the tiny hook goes on the dropout slot 🤙 (12:52)
But that just makes sense….hahaha

Great video! I’ve also been upgrading a Fit complete this year. I have a series 22 so I went with S&M wide mouth pitchforks. Found a great deal and got them new for about $150… I might have gotten the shivs if they came in 22” though. Also replaced the stem with an S&M enduro and used your discount code for them! So, thanks for that Brant!

As for an upgrade....maybe lighter folding tires or some sealed metal pedals
I like the series. I got back on a bmx a some years ago with a fit complete.
You mentioned the new forks were a huge upgrade. Whats makes them so much better than the old forks? You read the specs but didn't really compare them.
material, that complete have hi ten steel forks. So it's easy to bend or snap, especially for adults or advanced riders.
Shiv forks are 4130 chromoly and heat treated and also with other aspects of the design and construction that makes them also more strong. So they are really really difficult to break.

I remember seeing Jay Cowley back in the day break some fit shiv forks in chrome they cracked on the weld where the legs join the steerer tube
I wish those came with a 990 option
Those forks and Blade forks are light and strong but most riders dont know about cause they just look at the cheap price. It makes your front end feel much lighter. I think they are better the Odyssey
I don't think there is any evidence that they are better or at least stronger than odyssey. Also odyssey are lighter.
But for $100 can't complain, they are probably the best bang for buck, I was going to purchase the shiv but found R25 at $125 so I couldn't skip that deal.
