The Hook is a great diagnostic tool, one of the guys I work with has it. The only thing putting me off buying it is the fact that it is now discontinued. Is there a problem with it? Is there a new model coming out? I know the Maestro is the newest model but it still lacks the versatility of the Hook.
Im having a issue with my car.i have a shorted tail light.when the switch is turned on the fuse gets so hot it starts to melt but doesn't blow.its a 94 camaro.please help i bought the ect 3000 and im ordering the power probe 3
Thanks powerprobe, I'm feeling all shaky inside with excitement for this tool and learning to use it. Only thing is I haven't bought it yet. I am loving the tool, and with regards the relay tester, how does the tool display there was a problem with the relay. Do you have to stand there watching the lights light up and listening to the sound it makes eachtime it pulses the relay, or if there's a fault will it say there is on the display? Leaving you to go off and do other stuff whilst it's testing it? Now I must say I have the powerprobe 4, and would like to know how similar are the two tools? Could I have performed the test in this video using the powerprobe 4 as well? I know I could have given the condenser fan power from the probes tip. Could I have scrolled through to a fuse rating setting as well? I dont think it has that function. Await your answer. Love my powerprobe 4 though, great work guys.

What does the little hook do?
Suggestion: come out with a second version of the hook with an improved screen with a rocker switch under the other buttons
Great suggestion, appreciate the feedback.
If you guys make a new hook I’d buy it..

How do you know when using the hook that the relay is faulty though? Is there a message on screen or what?
the relay stops or stalls dummy@@jamesbarratt593
He says he found at times the relay would not work properly, but when I look at the screen I see no sign. How would the hook tell him the result?
Oh so you have to watch it then. Shame. There's something to be revised later in new model.
