I got the exact same scope and reducer, and I freaking love it. I would say that it's more Achro than APO, but it's right on the line - but it have a little aberrations on the blue color on bight stars, which it no problem for me, with my ZWO 1600GT mono and auto-focuser. It's amazing for the price, and the HA narrowband images it produces, blew my mind.
I owned a 102/1000 mm F10 Bresser achromat for some time, now I purchased the Svbony 102mm ED FPL51 and its significaltly better with a lot less chromatic aberrations.
Great video. I have had the 102 for a few months and have been very happy with it. Curious whether you’ll be doing a full review with sample images? Would be very interested. Keep up the great work!
I have the 70ed and reducer. I'm testing with a DSLR and i have a Lot of aberration. I don't know if the scope don't go well with DSLR, or back focus between the flattener and DSLR or other issue.
@@TheNarrowbandChannel Problem solved (I think), with Nikon camera. Hardly any appreciable aberration around bright stars. with canon you need a few millimeters of back focus and I think the blue halo in the stack is due to the mirror shaking parts of the mount which are fine for a camera and lenses but not for this kind of weight. It may also be that a bit of wind has contributed to the poor results.
That is interesting. Yes Backfocus can be quite important when it comes to optics. Were the chromatic aberrations on stars on the outside edges or in the middle too?
I have a Sony A7R4 On my SV Bony 503 80 ed Picture looks in focus but when I Download them they're soft . I was taking better pictures with my camera lenses
I recently purchased the 102 mm svbony. I’m not ready to purchase an expensive tripod as of yet. For the mount piece , is there an adapter piece I ( universal) so I can use on any tripod?
Hi TNC (The Narrowband Channel for short). Love your content especially on the underrated Olympus camera system (i have the em1x and em1.3). Your channel deserves more subs. What are your thoughts on the Radian Raptor and the claim that Trevor Jones personally designed it?
I am liking it. Ill be doing a full review soon though on it. Right now its packed up for our move. Will get it out soon and you will see it in more videos too.
Have you tried live composite on a tracker? Or would in camera stacking give a better result? I'm thinking about getting a tracker and use oly 100-400mm for andromedia and Pleiades.
@@minhtrita5927 Its cool. So it does not come with a tripod. Just about all scopes come separately today. Kits that are complete are usually lower end scopes which I would stay away from.
@@minhtrita5927 More like there are no good quality kits available. So you basically have to buy individual parts to get in to this hobby. SVBONY does have some partial kits that are good but getting a complete system just does not exist. The new ZWO SeeStar might be an exception but as you will see it's an all in one item anyway.
@@TheNarrowbandChannel i wanted to see the stars lol but i just saw nothing but the last 2 days i could see planets tho. I probably have to search for a better angle to see the stars right?

Yes this scope is no problem for a mono camera.
We all need a friend that look us like Ben is looking at his new scope! Great thumbnail!
Ya i normally make the thumbnails but this default one was good enough.
Grats on the new scope. Looking forward to seeing how it performs.

Yes I will do a full review soon and give lots of tips and tricks for it too.
Hi from Australia. I just purchased the same telescope yesterday. I look forward to your review. Cheers.
Thanks. Thomas and I talked a little more about it at Cherry Springs in my latest video. Ill be sure to do a full test and conclusion soon.
May pick up one of these.
Intersted in your review on this. Especially if you see any CA on it!

Are you using their reducer?
@@TheNarrowbandChannel yes. The flattener reducer who comes with the scope
Later I'm gone to test with a Nikon camera. Is a Little bit longer focal plane. first test was with Canon t5

A bahtinov mask is a must. Also this scope does have some CA. I covered it in detail in my review. I wold encourage you to watch that. Thanks.

They have a 1/4-20 stud in the vixen rail if I remember right.

I did two videos about it. Check them out. I gave plenty of details.
419.00 on Amazon yesterday....

This is a really good question. You see live comp would not average the pixels to create more dynamic range. Stacking afterwords does though.
I’m just an amateur, question, can you tell me if there is a mount piece that I can adapt to this so I can use the scope on various tripods?
See my first response.
You have taken a step backwards with the telescope glass type. That’s why it’s labeled as an achromat. FPL53 in the Skywatcher and FPL51 in the SVbony
True yes but with narrowband that is not a concern. You can even use an achromat scope for that.
Nó có đi kèm tripod không vậy?
Loại 102 ED , tkank you

Not "over an inch more in aperture" :)
Yes my bad, I incorrectly did the math. Had in my head to talk about the number of square inches of aperture but used the wrong term.
I am not with SVbony anymore since they backstabbed me.
Sorry to hear that. Sometimes things go badly with any manufacture. So far I have had good success.
Hey am a beginner and i see only the sky on my telescope why is that
Hmm I would think that the sky is what you would want to see right? Or are you trying to do terrestrial viewing?
