    What a fantastic product. I installed one out of necessity (space restraints) and it exceeded my expectations. I’ve built plenty of stereos and still…great product if you just want some kick, and fill in the gap with some low bass.

    Thanks for the demo but I didn't quite catch where the remote wire is connected to in the Jeep?

    • @trailseven
      @trailseven  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you’re connecting to a stock head unit and using the B-pillar, you won’t need to connect the remote wire. If you’re connecting to an aftermarket head unit with RCA’s, then the head units wiring harness should have a blue lead to splice in to.
      Watch our JK Hideaway install video where we tie into an aftermarket head unit. That video will show you the RCA connections as well as the blue remote wire connection.

    How does the amp.power on?
    I did not see a remote wire ran to cause the amp to power on?
    I have this sub. I just bought the entire kit. I have everything installed, but the sub. Using a stock head unit.
    Do we need a remote wire?
    Surely the amp isn't powdered on the entire time?

    • @trailseven
      @trailseven  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      When connecting using the stock head unit, the amp/sub is receiving its signal from the speaker wire which is also the “on” trigger. You will not connect the blue amp turn on wire. And no, the amp is not on the entire time.

    • @Labyrnthdom
      @Labyrnthdom ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @trailseven yes sir, hooked all of it up today. Left the remote laying there. Turned on radio and the sub powered right up.

      Yes, they don’t fit under the seats of the 2-doors as they do in the 4-door JK. With some creative installation though, it can be mounted into a 2-door, just not neatly under the front seats.

    The one thing I did find out is you do not have to go to the "b" pillar to access the speaker wires . Just remove the glove box to access the Knee speaker wiring. Dark Green/Violet is the + positive and Dark Green/ Yellow is the - Negative.Now just get the solid Gray and white speaker wires from the HA10 and connect them to the + speaker wire and do the same with the Negative wires and you are done . No need to connect 4 speaker wires as shown here because the HS10 is a MONO product so it only needs to be connected to only one pair of wires .

    Where does the Blue wire connect too? Isn't that the remote Turn On for the amp?

    • @trailseven
      @trailseven  ปีที่แล้ว

      In this install we’re installing using the factory head unit. In this scenario, the blue wire isn’t used. The blue wire (remote turn on) will be used when installing to an aftermarket head unit as can be seen in our JK Hideaway install video. In that scenario, RCA’s will be used to connect to the RCA sub out as well as connecting the blue wire to the harness. Our product page has purchase options for the stock head unit or aftermarket head unit installation.

    • @trailseven
      @trailseven  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregoetker1389 The red wire is terminated at the battery for power regardless of the DC/ 12v mode. The remote turn on is only needed when the sub is in 12v mode. Do you have a stock or aftermarket head unit?

    • @gregoetker1389
      @gregoetker1389 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@trailseven yes I have a 8.4 stock radio.
      Yes the Red Wire will always be used since that is the main power wire for the amp. The Blue wire is the Remote On. The DC/12v is telling the amp internally to use the blue wire or not. So if the switch is set to DC,vim assuming it's triggering a circuit inside the amp to use the red wire power to turn on the amp.
      You could install a toggle switch and use the blue wire to create a manual Remote On.

    • @WilsonRDFL
      @WilsonRDFL 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gregoetker1389the red wire is a constant 12v whether the vehicle is on or off. When in DC mode (connected to the stock had unit), the amp gets the "turn on" signal from the speaker inputs. There's no need for a remote wire in this scenario.
