Reporting in from New Rochelle N.Y. Yes store purchased jam is expensive here as well. Really enjoyed your tutorial coupled with your delightful personality. Thank you, and all the best!
I live in Camden Indiana. I am picking mulberry right now. I didn't know about picking some of the red ones just to give it a little (tang) . What a wonderful idea and I'm trying this as we speak. Thanks for sharing that. I'm ofcourse using your recipe! Thank you
Growing up we had a couple of mulberry trees in our front yard and my mom and grandma would make mulberry jam....always had a supply of it in the house year round and always had enough to give away to neighbors.
Ty from usa! i just got 2-4 lbs and some black raspberries too! i am doing this tomorrow. I also like the tart ones, my grandfather makes wine with a mix of ripe/unripe!
In northern Illinois I've got a dozen or so mulberry trees that the birds have planted. I can spend hours collecting mulberries. I clean them then freeze them until I have the time to can them because I have a big veggie garden and flower gardens. I eat as many mulberries off the trees for breakfast as I collect.
@BackyardChef it is nice. I rent the house but I have the run of the 10 acres. I've had to clean it up because it's been rental property for about 40 years. But the landlord lives what I've done. He grew up here. But the price is very good. I've learned so much.
😮 its October & mulberry season in Australia . I have picked a saucepan full of juicy black mulberries from the huge garden tree and about to make jam.
I just picked my own mulberries and I’m going to make my 1st batch of jam thank you
Good luck - I love the Jam. Best, Rik

How do you remove the woody stems? Strikes me that they would spoil the experience of eating the jam if they were present in the jar. No?
Just sieve the jam. Or pull them all out to start off with. Best, Rik
Can I use this recipe for blackberries. Just got 5 kilos.
Yes. Thank you. Best, Rik
