Thanks for this amazing front ride video! I’ve always loved the MITRAC DR1000 traction motors these S Stocks use. I’ll definitely be subscribing. Keep up the good work!
I'm pleased I left the District when I did! Whilst I appreciate the new stock etc, when I joined the DIstrict from the Jubilee (because I'd heard that was about to go auto) I thought I would be due retirement before the District went auto! I loved everything about the D and even the C stocks, and it was a skill to stop the train in the right place, in the wet (using a trick we called the "District Flick" for anyone who knows)! Incidentally, I have subscribed to your channel - you have some excellent content! Keep up the good work!
Do you know which ATO grade this train is now operating? And do you know which grade of ATO is planned? Saw one news article from 2014 saying that ATO GoA4 will be it, but another from 2014 saying there will be GoA2 first and after replacing all old trains, there will be GoA3.
@@megalifts The question is, is the drive automatically? And the driver is only responsible for the doors and the departure? If not, it could also be GoA1, where he drives manually.
@@luke_floorball In the ATO sections with CBTC signalling the driving is automatic. The drivers operates the doors, commands the ATO start and handles the emergencies.

SMR-6 > think they call it
It is GoA2 because the driver is present in the cab
@@TransporterTony Never heard of it

Wonder how fast this section is now, I’m sure it use to be 45mph
Fastest I’ve been down there is about 57
56 mph top speed.
is there sound?
There will be yes. What I find exciting about releasing this video is that you hear the sounds from both the passenger view and the cab combined!
