    I think hes just bullshitting about the lyrics, he just wrote them to sound like something deep but they mean nothing.

      They're just catchy, nothing else needed. Lyrics have the meaning the listener gives

      Maybe he didn't write the lyrics that cynically but he definitely is rationalising after the fact. He admited that he wrote the lyrics intuitively so any explanation he gives to them will be bs.
