Cataclysm Classic Release Date CONFIRMED!

- Recently we've seen players invited to the Cataclysm Classic closed Beta for World of Warcraft Classic. As we begin to draw closer towards the release of Cataclysm classic, it's now been confirmed that the specific date we will get to see Cataclym's changes in Classic World of Warcraft once again is May 20th, in just over a month. However, with the surprise announcement being so soon, are there some issues with this date? Let's find out.

What do you make of Cataclysm Classic's release date?
The sudden release and the pace of cataclysm has me a bit worried.
On one hand i am grateful that we will get cataclysm soon because of the drought we are in for wrath era.
On the other hand I'm very worried about how soon it is coming out. If the state if cataclysm is anything like the beta, we will be in for one hell of a rough time. Bugged and non-completable quests. Some classes are broken still. We are still in the stages of testing content like BGs and raiding. Hell, we havent even seen what the supposed Heroic+ is yet.
Im also worried about the pacing of the content. While I want MoP classic to arrive as soon as possible, i also dont want to speed rush cataclysm content. For example, we will have firelands for like 3 months, a lot of it during the holiday season. I just wished they spaced out the content a bit more so that each patch has its representation and that cataclysm can feel represented in a good light over something that had to be rushed to get to the next expansion.
All in all, my feelings are hyped but worried. Heres hoping blizzard gets a lot done in a month and a half.
Yep, I think I’m in the same boat as I mentioned; wanted a release date and now we have one I don’t want to over-complain about it, but left me a mix of hyped/worried also! Hopefully it’s all good long-term 😅
It's bittersweet. I've been looking forward to playing Cata again and I expected the prepatch sooner rather than later which actually happened. However the content pacing appears to be a bit rushed, after waiting to play it for so long knowing that it will be over in 7 months or so is a let down.

What’s going to happen after the end of classic progression ?
I am assuming it would probably end once MoP finishes
Unsure really - I could see them pushing for “Legion Classic” (yep 😅) for it being the point the “old story” finished given The War Within is picking up the “New Story” pretty much from the end of Legion (i.e. That Sword).
Not a perfect idea but something I could see them running with!
After that, who knows 😂
Classic is the beginning of WoW being good. I can’t wait.

pvp season? like 2-3 month long or what idk this feels like to much of a rush i was planing to play pvp but whats the point if they just want to skip the expansion..
Not much if a pvp’er myself but certainly understand the frustration if it is the case

My best guess is it progresses to MoP Classic & we don’t get Cata Era.
Not gona tuch it, hated the PvP (actually I quite competitive pvp then), the lost of talents. Raids was good, with spine fight as the only exception, but just raiding is not enough for me to give it another go, did it once and that's enough.
Yeah I'm interested in how much it'll capture my interest this time round, but willing to give it another go - can't blame anyone who doesn't feel the same though.

Agreed. Cataclysm private servers are rare for a reason.

as someone who never played wow “back in the day” i’m really looking forward to cata after having a fun time in tbc and wotlk, im keeping an open mind which is the important thing
