HIGHLIGHTER awe hun please know that whatever adult issues they are fighting about you are not at fault nor should you get involved. As a kid i watched my parents fight and throw things. I was used as a pawn against each other. I even would try to play one against the other. Then when they finally divorced when i was 18, i had to pick a parent . (As a mom now i could never). I even had to testify in court. Please learn from my broken experiences and the breakdown of my sister and i because of this, just stay out of the adult fighting. You aren't alone. We are all here for you. Sending lots of love and hugs.
Another great video. It's lovely to watch you go the extra mile with your meals e.g seasoning, sides etc esp for a guy at your age. Keep the content coming. Don't mind the snarky comments. How sweet of Hannah!
I pour my rice a cup for a cup water . Then I place my finger to top of rice and add water to knuckle line just above for long grain or jasmine. Your the first in the younger generation I have seen cook rice so I am super impressed . Another quick trick is pour a half cap of white vinegar to reduce boiling over during the 20 minute steam process .
Tee J 😂😂😂😂 he seems like a good kid... most likely is & I give him lot credit doin what hes doin on his own.. not easy... I was referring to some angles on his facial gestures..... wish kid nothn but best luck

I’m from Hawai’i..home of poke and the poke bowl. Add some sweet onions in there next time. Or if you like spicyish...add some siracha to some mayonnaise, then add to ahi (tuna) yummm. Actually, so many different ways to make poke. Great vids!

I'm glad you made that correction for yellow tail/yellow fin because yellow tail is absolutely phenomenal table fare and skip Jack could never be labeled as better eating! Love your channel Mav!
I watch this kind of thing and wonder what the hell I am doing paying a mortgage and working a 9-5. This is guy is out there livin his best life every day.. who cares if you sleep in your truck. Seems like fun to me. Cheers
@mav rice is one cup of rice that is a cup for flour and two cups water. First though you heat up oil with some salt and then you add rice once oil is heated. Once rice is added you heat up oil and brown the rice then you add water. Stir when needed and then once it boils you set timer for 18 mins around that time cheers.
You could literally use that soya sauce, rice vinegar And sesame oil combo for anything, like fried rice, seasoning chicken , teriyaki chicken if you add a bit of sugar , spice it up with a bit of Siracha, that triple threat sauce always comes in handy quick And easy
Curious about how you fund this lifestyle as I am very jealous hardworking 20 y/o. Good stuff boss would be honored to get in touch with you, regards from colorado.
Better luck next time with tuna.....Next time camp in liberty Station parking lot, its also in point loma....really sharp knives are safer than dull knives.....peel the ginger with a spoon then grate....wash rice at least 3 times and you can use any amount of rice as long as when touch the rice the water reaches your first knuckle
Hey dude, I’m in Cali too gonna try living outta my car or get a van while I finish college. Been watching you for a couple months now, a good money idea if you find some time is to make a cookbook of the recipes and instructions for meals you can cook out of your truck!
well he'd really have to move away from the road to capture sound decently..and after making the food I guess he just wants to eat it, not clean up, lock up and off with the bowl to find a suitable place
From south la bro , I watch ace videos and came across your channel when you met up with him ever since then I watch you , pretty cool what your doing if you like it then that's all that matters be safe out there lot of weirdos out in the streets 😇
Mine too! I am dying for some ahi tuna with some avacado, ginger, soy and a crap ton of wasabi. I don't like mango and don't want the rice. Maybe a few pita chips on the side.
PS....I had to google skipjack because in MS we call a big species of shad, skipjack. We call what you caught Bonita. Yes they are as good as black fin tuna raw/ceviche fresh.
You can just fill the rice up and add water and put your finger on top of the rice with water in it. Make sure the water is to your first line of your finger works with any amount of rice cuh.
I newly subscribed today because I really love what you are doing and how open and honest you are. I was curious if you had a patreon or an amazon wishlist of things you need or want. Especially with the holidays coming if you don't have one please make one. Keep on doing you!!
The Schill Brothers Outdoos recently gave your channel a shout out on there livestream podcast. That’s how I found your channel. There TH-cam channel and podcast is about backpacking and backcountry camping. They do some fly fishing on some trips and always have great content. Maybe you all could get together and do some fishing. They are hammock campers and could possibly give you some pointers on your hammock set up.
Maybe a little Justin Bieber and a dash of Jack Lemmon for good measure.... mmmmm... cool videos kid , keep it up 👍🏻 a restaurant may be in your future, your cooking always looks delicious
OCEANSIDE! I live at the beach. Would love to attend a meet up if you do one in Socal. Or if you are in the neighborhood stop on by our historic beach cottages almost 100 years old! (free parking lol) fish right out my front yard or at the pier :) Great vids!
The fishing out of San Diego has been so good lately I am surprised they didn't at least get you on some schoolie yellowfin. I also question the motivation of that crew. Unless they were friends of yours, whats up with the hanging in the bunks when they should be busy getting you hooked up. Maybe I am missing something? Been fishing out of that area for quite some time and it just didn't look right
I’m gonna tell you right now, being born and raised in Hawaii, smaller ahi (Shibi) is way better then the bigger ones! The meat is way softer and less fatty
Yeah, if it's not ahi grade tuna (bluefin) for poke, the rest is yuck imo but you did a great job with what you had. Hawaiians don't actually put any vinegar into poke, it's not ceviche where it requires acid. But if you can ever get your hands on toasted candle nut meat, we sprinkle it on top and mix it in. It adds a toasty, oily taste to otherwise very lean tuna. It's pricey and don't eat too much of it because it is nut meat and can have a terrible effect on your digestion. We like slivered avocado, slivered cukes, sometimes limu (a type of local seaweed) and sometimes oyster sauce. Also, that toasted sesame oil sells for about $13.00 for a half gallon at Costco or any Asian store. Best quality will be found in Korean stores, maybe Japanese stores. But anywhere else is inferior. Buy it on the West coast while you're there and take it back East. Keep the lot in the freezer, while keeping a small bottle out for daily use. It turns into a thick sludge but liquifies again under running hot tap in minutes. Use it on ramen, noodles of any kind, skosh on rice mixed with kimchee, as a finish on any fish and in marinade for beef or pork. Enjoying your channel. Subbed late but better than never! Someday I hope you can come to Hawaii and taste authentic poke. California versions are putzy to most locals. Sorry for the lengthy post but you are so motivated and I think you deserve the best. Good luck on your channel! Love to see collabs in the future!
This dude is cultured, open-minded, and curious. Good young man.
