Forgot to label the scenes but here is the key thing, Third person footage is when am using controller, all other footage is on a T 300 wheel and pedal system. If my head is moving then it's me using the VR.

I never personally got into project cars but I know if I was a fan I would be very disappointed with this version.
My biggest issue from what I've seen so far is the same... "It's not even Project Cars anymore"...

DriveClub has better graphics than this, and far superior weather effects, and that game was released SIX YEARS AGO.

Drive club is a bad example, it looks good because its 30fps and max 12 cars, also fictional tracks. Boycott project cars 3 unbelievable they done this to the people that funded the original project.

There’s a Game called Automobilista 2 its probably what PC3 should of been it’s a bit bare bones but it’s built on madness engine so it supports VR also it has silverstone 1991 and period F1 cars for some Mansel mania 👍
Yeah AMS2 looks much much better. of course it's a proper sim. Must be part of the decision to go full arcade crap with this one. Why this is called project cars 3 though, that is a head scratcher.

I blame CodeMasters for this who bought the studio who makes the project cars games. Grid 2019 did absolutely horrible in terms of sales and fan reaction, so CodeMasters binned that franchise, but thought oh what a great idea it would be to combine both PJC and Grid. Absolutely horrible. Project Cars 2 for all the hate it gets about being a buggy game was one of the best racing sims on the market, and actually was fun to play if you put the time into it. The tracks were scanned so well and the weather system was unreal, but nah after two sim games they've decided to officially kill the series with a terrible direction. Regardless of having hopes to bring in newer players, PJC should never be an arcade like racer. It was never meant to be a NFS or a Forza. Part of the reason why people liked PJC was because of how good it was in terms of sim like options, plus the AI was always great to verse. This is an absolute joke. It's such a 180 move that makes zero sense, almost as if the developers do not care for a promising franchise at all. Do not buy this travesty of a game.

Man... I miss the true hard to master arcade racers from the 90's, back when they weren't simplified messes trying to pretend to be what they're not...
Project CARS always sucked balls as a Sim. It was always broken, very buggy, it had terrible car physics and even weirder crash physics, and some of the real life tracks weren't even close to being accurate representations. I guess Ian "give me your crowd funding because I want a new ferrari" Bell had decided to give up trying to make a Sim (because they couldn't) and made an Arcade racer instead. At least then people won't complain about the above mentioned issues - And as people had learned their lesson with pCARS2 scam-based crowd funding, they didn't crowd fund this and SMS had to make pCARS3 on a shoestring budget.
That's my opinion on why they've done what they've done with Project CARS 3.
p.s. Ian Bell did actually crowd fund for Project CARS 2 and used some of that money to buy a Ferrari 458. He then let people who bought the $15,000+ support packages for pCARS2 have a ride in his Ferrari as he drove them around and they went for lunch. Not even making this up.
Pc1 could be nice. But no sim can ever be realistic, so they probably came ad close as you can or about.

@@CBadger I think I played iracing the 2005 one its pretty good, but still no sim can be realistic, just kinda close to semi realistic.
Also played assetto corsa but thats about pc1 level. But iracing is probably better than both they really try but its still not realistic.

And well I'd say realism is how a car realistically works, GT sport has no offert put into that what so ever and no force feed back and it basically shares the having 4 wheels part with real cars and thats about it. Physics in that game are funny at times sure but it's definitely not realistic.
So as I said in the first sentence Iracing is pretty good, and Granturismo sport is very bad. But it was a cash grab after all so they probably didn't try to hard.
As Mack said, call it what you want but this is not my Project Cars! After this Slightly Mad Studios must change their name to Completely Mad Studios!

This should never have been called Project CARS 3, they should have come up with a spin off title to seperate it from the previous games.
CARS stands for Community Assisted Race Simulator, this is not what the community who help fund the original two games wanted, in fact it's pretty much the polar opposite.

I'm watching this on my cell/mobile phone which has a smallish screen & i think this is were i don't see a problem with this game or maybe too many Pc owners who but console game's constantly expect F'N amazing jaw dropping graphics when console are not as powerful as Pc for optimum graphical options...
Also when are Mack & the rest of the gamer's going to accept that modern game's are 95% of the time released when they arent ready & tested properly for every single problem that these games can have...
Back with the Xbox One & PS4 this is when game's developer's showed their true colours & started to take the piss by releasing game after game that wasn't/isn't completely playing at the best that game can & all they care about is selling DLC's trying to get gamer's to pay the full price of a game up front with Pre-orders 6 months or more before its due to be released & its not like they are only asking for a 10% deposit which is the norm, no, they want the Full Price Up Front before the game is released...

Watch Jimmy Broadbent's review of the game. He got creamed on the straights because the AI has no clutch while he has to take his feet off the accelerator to change gear.
I hate how everything has to appeal to the Fortnite crowd now. It's sad seeing how they turned one of the best sim racing games into a mobile game for kids.

@Worth A Buy You definitely should check out Automobilista 2. It's THE actual successor to pC2 and is completely in a league of it's own when it comes to any Madness Engine game.

The good thing about Mack is he has his opinions, which are strong and he makes no effort of hiding them.
That makes his videos interesting, he has a very strong personality (which I happen to like), yet he still makes sure he stays as objective has he can in order to tell a potential customer what to expect from a game, also he's been around the block a couple of times and knows his stuff, especially his racing game reviews are my favorite. He's very knowledgeable.
Also, he's got a very thick skull, but that also means he stands by his opinions and doesn't compromise. He's also a guy with a lot of integrity, so I happen to trust and lean on him heavily when it comes to making a decision on buying a game or not.
Despite the mediocre score given to this game in this, what I think in my opinion, is a very useful and in-depth review, I made the decision to buy this game.
I'm a fan of the classic Need for Speed games, not Underground and Most Wanted, I mean the real classic Need for Speed games, from the 20th century, Need for Speed II, High Stakes and Need for Speed Porsche.
The new ones don't do it for me because they're too arcade, and simulators don't do it for me because they're to boring. I'm looking for a game I can play with a controller, just like my Grand Theft Auto's, my Read Dead 2 and all the other stuff installed on my computer, with enough realism to make it immersive, but not too much realism to make complicated and tedious, and I have to say Project Cars 3 absolutely delivers for me.
It's the first game that gives me the sense of thrill and speed again like I first experienced it with Need for Speed III: Hot Pursuit. It's benenefitting from the Project Cars 2 engine, which gives it an amazing driving feel and still very impressive physics, yet it's been simplified to an extent which allows me to not worry about fuel, mechanical damage etc. It turned out to be one of my favorite racing games of the last five years.
So thanks Mack.

Spot on even if I did not enjoy the game. This is not a project cars game. Simulation non-existent (driving and sliding on ice), really bad graphics (looks good on review but irl, terrible), slow fps and very bad force feedback. I am so dissapointed but they just want to sell the game..

Gran Turismo 2 was released in '99 and looks better in every respect than this. All this game has achieved is motivated me to dig out the old PS2 and wheel to play GT2 again. Not a bad idea actually, cheers!

-Sounds are not dull but they are spot on and different from each car
-a lot of content including cars and tracks, something that Grid doesn't have either.
it might not be project cars but this game it's a simcade, not completely arcade and not a sim, it's fun as hell and immersive as fuck, granted graphics SOMETIMES can be bad given certain time of days or weather and have some performance issues on ultra but still no stutter and no lag.
There are simly not enough buckets I could vomit into. This means I have to play Project Cars 2 forever. *sigh*

I think this has been my most disappointing game of the year, i was so looking forward to what refinments this would bring over PC2, only to find out they completely threw away all that was good about the former game, to cater to an audience they never had in the first 2 games, i predict very poor sales, and hope so too, PC was funded by players who wanted a specific vision, a sim racer with all that entails, now they have slapped those same people in the face to appeal to a completely different audience.
SIM racing among gamers. The word makes me laugh! Tweaking a rebound and then maybe lowering the car 0,5 centimeters. That makes a feeling about SIM that has nothing with reality to do. Do you really think that games like F1 and project cars have anything with the real engineers work to do anyway?? It is a slightly mad simulating a simulating. What you guys here seem to forget is that racing is and should totally most be about driving and the feel behind the wheels. About that PC3 is a candy store. Never done better in any racing game. Cars, tracks, weather, super entertaing races plus online racing. But let it be said. Use ONLY helmet view, set it to between 83 and 88 degrees in options and there you go. Driving with a rear view as many reviewvers do, have NOTHING TO DO WITH SIM ANYWAY!!! :) Just try this. Between practising and the races it is much more short loading times than PC 2, so you can actually quickly compare the cars before you choose which car to drive. PC 2 which many "sim racers" accepted was WAY too odd in the way cars reacted compared to teh feel of real cars on the racetracks. Forget the tyre pressure. Drive!! Then Slightly MAD can later add pit stops if someone enjoy sitting there thinking about strategy. Well to those, i could also recommend a game of chess:)

I understand SMS wanting to expand their market, and going arcade. I would have preferred it be a sim, but I still like a good arcade racer .. but it doesn't do that very well, and it doesn't sim well either .. so swing and a miss on both counts. Why?
Both PC1 and PC2 were amazing in VR, and Automobilista 2 {AMS2} (which uses the same engine as PC2) is awesome in VR, so why is PC3 so terrible in VR?
PC1, PC2 and AMS2 all have great graphics, great rain effects, live evolving track and stellar performance. Why does PC3 suffer in all of these areas?
90% of the content is copy-pasted from PC1 and PC2 so there are very few things that were added - why take so much out? Would have been easier to have left it in which would have also made it feel more like a Project CARS game, which this one does not.
So it seems to me, they added very little, and took away a bit, and that explains the development time since updates stopped on PC2? They spent time downgrading the graphics .. but why? I never heard a console player complaining of poor performance in the previous titles.
The audio in PC2 was .. okay-ish. Assetto Corsa Competizione is the new gold standard, but even the audio is worse in PC3 than PC2 - muted or suppressed or compressed or something.
Makes me think someone @ SMS went out of their way to make PC3 worse, in every way possible, and that just does not make sense.
Like I said, leaves me scratching my head.

This game has no AA ... NO AA!!!! .... u can force it through reshade but only DLAA (diagonal method) is actualy rly improving the aliasing....

pcars 1 and 2 suck, thsi sucks even more SMS and Ian Bell are 10x worse than EA, thankfully they now admit they simply cannot make a decent racing sim and are gone from the sim scene.Ill stick with RF2,ACC,AMS2 and R3E thanks very much
they did not give YOU a key, but they gave the keys to all the sim racers who obviously hate it anyways LOL. They should have given some keys to the bro/dude culture youtubers... maybe then they would get some good reviews

Good review. I'm just confused, the final verdict doesn't quite seem to reflect the review. Given the publishers asking full AAA price for this, I would have thought the final verdict would be a lot more decisive. Even when reviewing it as an arcade not a sim
SMS’s biggest mistake was in not making PC2 console only. The PC sim community is as toxic as it is small. PC2 outsold all the main PC hardcore sims, thanks to the console players, but did SMS take that as a positive? No, they listened to the PC sim elitists, decided they’d never match rF2 or iRacing, and decided to make an arcade racer out of PC2. Idiots!
Sort PC2’s pad control, they had a GTS killer. Which sold 8M fkn copies! Take that, rF2!
