    Great stuff! I am in Florida and a lot of this info can translate to inshore fishing for big snook and Tarpon down here.

      Awesome! Thanks for watching...my next few videos will be highlighting an even better low budget saltwater option so keep an eye out!

    Been using that reel for 2 hrs now and I love it. It’s great for jigging bondis too. Drag holds up very well. Highly recommend the reel!!!

    Love these reels as well! I have (3)450’s a 350 and a 200. Love the non disengaging levelwind adds casting distance. I have a tranx and Lexa. By far my Komodo’s are the most used and versatile. Great review!!!!

      Thank you! The levelwind is something I should've added along with the adjustable handle. Thank you for the comment!

    Love the Okuma Citrix 364 for smaller lures and Abu revo toro winch 61 for big baits

    Great breakdown of what’s going on with those reels! Especially drag pressure and gear ratio.

    I looked at all of these reels, but I chose the Daiwa Prorex 400. Smooth as glass and will pull in a submarine

    Couple of things you didn't cover. It has a non disengaging levelwind. Some prefer that, some don't, some don't care. Also there are two positions the handle can be mounted in depending on what you want to do with the reel. It's in the shorter position out of the box. If you're using it for blades you can mount it in the longer position for a bit mire leverage.

      Thanks for the additional tips. I don't have a preference for the level wind but the handle adjustment would have been a great thing to add. Thanks for the comment!

      @@sgangling after throwing double 10s with the handle in the longer position, I can say without question it's significantly easier. But I can see it being a bit easier to work baits that don't pull hard and require quick line pickup in the shorter position.

    In most cases 300 size reels don't have less drag most time its just spool size. Dude look at the citrix its pretty much the same reel but brass instead of stainless so it's a bit cheaper used mine two seasons now and like it more than the tranx 400

    • @sgangling
      @sgangling  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends on the reel really. As a general rule of thumb if you are looking for 30lbs drag a 300 won't ever come close to that. The citrix is definitely a good low budget option just a bit smaller and less drag but definitely a good suggestion. Thanks for the comment!

    What would you recommend for a heavy pulling bait reel (double 10 bucktails etc.)? Right now I’m looking at the Diawa lexa TW 400P-P, lexa HD 400PWR-P, the Okuma Komodo SS KDS-436P, shimano tranx 500, and the Diawa Prorex 400P-P. I would prefer a solid line pickup (in terms of spool size) and a gear ratio of 5.3:1 5.1:1 4.3:1 or 4.1:1

    Not to correct you but these have been out for 5 years.

      Yeah I looked up the release dates before filming this so I know it's not brand new. New for me and relatively new to the market you could say. 350 size came out in 2016. Then the 400 size came out next in 2017. But definitely still an under estimated option in the Musky world.
