My schedules between my time at JUCO, D3, and NAIA were vastly different. At JUCO, we had to be done by 12-12:15 latest because bus left at 12:30. We also had 5 hours in study hall if you were below 3.0. At D3, we had mandatory study tables for freshmen and those below 3.0. We were allowed to miss classes for home games. At my current NAIA school, we miss class= we don't travel. Also if we have classes during home games and practices, we have to go to those classes dressed in uniform or practice gear, and you're expected to be there right after.
I play Division III ball and it sounds very similar. Were only allowed morning classes and i was done at about 12 every day. In D3, its not about how many hours per week w the team, your only allowed a certain amount of weeks for the full season with the team. We do 5-6 weeks in the fall together and then have captain practices/ lifts without our coaches until febuary when we start full practices with out full team/coaches. Also had to do mandatory study halls and log in 6 hours a week in the study room. It is way more relaxed than high D1 ball though
Is it ok if you are weak during lifts ? Is there some sort of punishment for not being as strong or physically capable as the other players ? (My cousin is a freshman at Liberty University, he is 6 ft. 2 and he said he is one of the weakest and shortest of the pitchers there. )
I have a few videos on that, but final three were Wake Forest, UNC, and probably Notre Dame. Although there were a few others in there as well. It was really UNC and Wake
Antonelli Baseball awesome man...I love your videos...I coach high school baseball in North Carolina, I’m the same age as you..originally from Ohio...I think I saw you play a couple times when you were with the Warhawks
Question: You were named best 2nd basemen prospect while in the minors by Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus. In November 2007, you were ranked as the #1 second baseman in the minors and #27 prospect overall in the minors. How did you, with being a huge prospect, only be in the majors for almost just a month?
Hey Matt, if there is a specific dream school that I really want to go to, how should I go about contacting them, get recruited by them, and getting an offer from them. I'm an incoming freshman.
My college, I had some friends that were athletes on scholarships. My college did not give a damn about grades with their athletes. :/ they could be failing with a 1.8 GPA and still play for the season although their scholarship requires a 2.8+ GPA to play. Meanwhile, I'm over here hauling ass to keep my GPA above a 3.0 for my scholarship and one semester it was a 2.9 and it was taken away. Like....really?! 🙄😂
@@AntonelliBaseball reason I'm asking is to see what the requirements are for a D1 athlete coming out of high school. I try to teach my kids the importance of academics but i wasn't really sure what kind of grades the colleges look for from high school players
If you are a student athlete all programs should stress your education. Since the vast majority of players won't make the pros do well at your classes and get that degree.
