Little People Big God: Jael vs. Sisera

As we continue our series on the little people that God uses in big ways, we come to the book of Judges. This is a period of time described as everyone doing what was right in their own eyes. There are very big actors in this passage: Deborah, Barak, Jabin (king of Canaan), Sisera (Jabin's army commander), and even Heber the Kenite. But seemingly, out of nowhere, comes Jael, who compared to these others seems to do a small deed but the ripple effects are quite dramatic and decisive.
You may feel like someone whose contributions are nothing compared to the contributions of others. Your talents aren't so great when contrasted with the talents of others. Aided by the disrespect you feel from others, you may feel small and insignificant. If you do, you may be in just the right place to make an outsized contribution to what God is doing around you. God delights in using little people to show Himself a big God. If you are little, you are in the right place.
