In the case of child custody in the event of divorce, sons automatically belong to the father and daughters automatically belong to the mother. @@tenzindolma7041 For your info, in Tibetan law when Tibet was independent, daughters identify with their mother and sons identify with their father, So, if a woman from Lhasa marries a man from Kham, if it’s a son, he will identify himself as a Khampa even though his mother is a Lhasan. If it’s a daughter, she identifies with her mother and regards herself as a Lhasan even though her father is a Khampa. In the case of child custody in the event of divorce, sons automatically belong to the father and daughters automatically belong to the mother.
