- SURPRISE! I spontaneously moved to London (only for 6 weeks!) before I go to Australia in December! I found I was commuting almost every day for TH-camy things (which became so expensive!) and there are so many cool events and things always going on in the Land of London - an absolute honour and dream to be living alone here for a while! Shoutout to the incredible Urbanest student accommodation for reaching out and making me feel so at home. I didn't even know rooms this incredible existed for uni students..! I hope you enjoy this vlog! It also turned into a bit of a StudyTube sleepover with Ruby ☺️ x
- I've now actually been in London almost 3 weeks. Whaaaaat!! Unfortunately, the pace of my life has not matched the pace of my editing! I really do apologise, but I also always think, quality over quantity! 😉 -
If you're interested in the UN Initiative, I've posted about it on Instagram quite a bit! There's an incredible app called Share The Meal which allows you to feed a starving child for a WHOLE DAY for just 35p. Ruby and I have made it a bit of a habit to donate every time we eat out! ❤️ if you find it in you to help a child, donate the meals with our #TeamStudyTube as our goal is 10,000 meals shared from our community!

Jade! I am genuinely so proud of you for voluntarily stepping out of your comfort zone and moving out (but I do like how you've optimistically twisted it to 'moving in'... it's a much more positive way of looking at it and would be so beneficial for us all to adopt this same mindset!).
I genuinely could not stop smiling the whole way through watching this -- I still can't get over how lovely it is that Folkert came down to London at 4am to drop you off; or how amazing Chloë was in stocking your cupboard with vegan essentials. That day was truly such an incredible day and watching this back makes me even more grateful to call you a friend :)xxx

watching her videos makes me feel like shit because we’re the same age and she’s living her best life, travelling, with so many good friends, a loving family, a loyal online following and just positive energy all around her while I’m on a gap year too but have faced so many storms since summer, failed my exams, stressed from ucas, did no travelling whatsoever, have uncaring and rude family members and all around me is just so negative. I don’t know why I’m living so depressed. I was happy for so long but since 2017, my mood took a tumble. I’m broke too and my skin is breaking out plus I got fired from my job and feel disconnected with my faith. I wonder when I’ll ever be happy again. 😞
Hey!! Bless you. Hi hello let's chat 🌻 I'm so so sorry these circumstantial things have been happening; I truly am. I also fully appreciate that when you feel like you have all these negative things around you, all these pitfalls, setbacks etc, it can seem so bloody hard to imagine a life for yourself beyond all of those things, or even imagine being content with life. ❤️
Maybe start small. Start with something small and positive and wonderful in your life and start to invest a bit more time into it, such as your faith. Disconnection comes from feeling scattered, and maybe all you need is to consciously decide to hone in a lil more. If you're feeling depressed, I cannot recommend enough going to see a professional. Sometimes just talking these things through and not feeling so powerless or isolated is so important! There is absolutely no shame.
Though everything may feel like it's tumbling at the moment, please remind yourself that this moment right now is temporary. You're so worthy of living a better, happier life and attracting that positivity can only come from a shift of mindset. Allow yourself to believe things can be better. Invest your time differently. Focus not on the failures but your opportunity NOW for success. I know I'm rambling and I might not be helping at all, but I just want to show that someone cares. 🌟 It may seem like I have the perfect life, but I've had family issues in my early teen years which made me question everything.

NAJ i have never related to a gap year story this strongly :( didn’t do well for my As but still managed to get a place in local unis but I impulsively decided to take a GAP year because of many reasons (eg. mental health and exploring my options?). Taking a gap year is really unconventional in my country and I regretted it for so many reasons 1) I’ll have to re-apply for unis because I couldn’t defer my uni offer 2) stuck in an internship i absolutely hate but haven’t gotten another offer 3) my mental health hasn’t gotten better 4) my faith has been weakening too oops 5) haven’t done anything else that’s considered productive
Nevertheless, I’m hoping for the best for you and everyone else taking a gap year!! Hope to hear a great update from you :D

Hello, Donna from Mama Mia!! You remind me so much of her. You are the happiest most optimistic person I think I've seen in my life. You are living your best life and I am so happy for you! I just recently found your channel and the first video I watched was your interrailing video. I learned that you are 18, vegan, and on a gap year. All three things I am as well (just a weird coincidence). I am planning on traveling in a few months for however long I feel. I'm going to buy a ticket somewhere across the ocean (from usa) and travel until I feel like coming home. And when I saw that you had an itinerary, traveler's insurance, and many things packed for in case scenarios, I had a mental breakdown of how unprepared I am and some insecurity about if I really should do this or not. I've wanted to solo travel since I was a child. I always thought that as a female 18 was too young and that I would have to wait until I was 25. But in the last few months of high school when I took some solo trips around the US I realized that I could do it at 18. But your motivation for growth and new experiences confirms how much I want to go. I'm going to be very unprepared and most likely will screw a few things up but I'm so happy that there are other females out there grabbing life by the reins. Keep on growing, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

Honestly same! 😭😭 my baby!! Although he did come to visit last weekend and we had the BEST day! I think it's quite cool for him in a way that he gets to be all independent in visiting. It was his first time taking the train alone etc. But I still miss him :((( x

This brings back memories of when I moved out of home! Now it has been almost two years...I'm still learning how to be an adult :) my cooking skills have improved a lot, that's for sure! I actually almost moved to exactly where you're living. I received an offer to study at the LSE and I came super close to taking it, but eventually I decided not to. So I stayed in my home country, Australia. I hope you enjoy visiting in December. Bring/buy 50 SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and a wide-brimmed hat. The sun is _fierce_ - don't underestimate it! We have a beautiful landscape for you to enjoy :D
