    Great review. Just bought one. for mostly charging batteries and small appliances/tools. Perfect! The light weight was a major factor. Easy to move and store. It would be fantastic if Genmax made a dual fuel version keeping the weight below 35 pounds. Alp propane generator has too low running watts and way too high price. 2000 watt dual fuel models weight around 50 lbs, too high to easily move around for many people. I would be first in line for a light weight 1000 watt dual fuel unit and I have many friends who would too.

    what generator would you recommend for a boat with a cabin? havent seen you mention that. thanks for the your videos

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching
      I had a 25 foot cabin cruiser I ran my ac on my 2k generator but it was just barely enough power to run everything else without shutting down one to run the other, that was highly annoying.
      I think a 3200w compact generator would have been nice 😊
      That will be enough power for battery charger, A/C and microwave and it’s light enough to carry and transported solo.
      Check out my videos on 3200w generators I know how important space is on the water.

    I'm looking at this generator on Amazon, but I wasn't sure. It's for camping. I do use some solar, but I still like to have a small gas generator available. By watching this review you did I'm sure I want this one now.
    Just one question. The recoil start is always a worry for me. I'm someone who always had a problem starting her bigger older generator herself. I really hate having to hunt someone to pull for me. But this is such a small generator. So do you think that recoil is very hard to pull? I'm a granny now....lol....but an independent one who loves to go to the campground by herself to relax. So what did you think about the recoil start on this?

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I really don’t think you’ll have any problems starting these small generators. They have no issues, so with one or two pulls it should fire right up for you.

    Thanks for the great review! Purchased one partially on your review. Directions say fill with 0.1 gallon of oil, which equates to 1.6 cups. 1.6 cups has the oil overfilled on dipstick. Any insights into that issue?

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Remember, these are pre-filled and emptied from the factory so you may have a little oil inside the engine. Best practice is fill it to the top. Until you see the oil on the edge of the threads

    A parallel option on a 1000w generator seems silly. Why would anyone buy two of these when you could buy the Genmax 3300w generator for less money?

    • @Tom-In-Ga
      @Tom-In-Ga 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Exactly. But, I'm guessing someone would buy one and later on they find out it's not enough oomph and decide to up the power?

      The 1200 is 25 lbs while the 3300 is 47 lbs. Sometimes it comes down to physical ability. A few years ago my elderly dad wanted a generator to run his sump pump and fridge in case of emergency. I got him a 2200 watt generator. He liked it and all was good. Now a few years later at 80 years old he struggled lifting that 45+ lb generator so he traded for my Wen 1250 watt generator which is around 30 lbs which was much easier for him to lift. 18lbs doesn't seem like much when you are young and fit but can be a deal breaker to others. With that in mind some people can then lift and use two of the smaller ones to get the power they need by using the parallel cables. Also, its more economical to just run one small engine when you just need lights, charger power, tv, and only add in the second unit when you actually need the extra power (rv air conditioner, etc). Also you have redunancy. When one fails you at least have some power instead of having all your eggs in one basket. So it just depends on the situation.

    Another mod is I designed a control box that goes between the solar panels and generator to a solar power Bank.
    If the generator is charging the power bank and the sun starts producing enough protons to charge the power bank, then the control box will switch the generator charge vdc off and turn the solar panels on to charge the power bank.
    This is cool because you may be using the gas generator to a 110 vac accessory. This will continue now without interruptions.
    Sun gets clouded, the box switches the gas generator back on to charge the power bank.
    Easy as 1 2 3

  • @michaelhaniotes36
    @michaelhaniotes36 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thinking of purchasing one for camping, some days, flex solar panels don't work, mainly cloudy days etc

    • @GeneratorReviews
      @GeneratorReviews  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True!!! Plus camping is usually under trees and we mostly use the power at night.

    • @michaelhaniotes36

      @@GeneratorReviews again a true statement. Although you can store gas generated energy in a Solar Power Supply for later use.
      I modified a power supply so the dc input goes directly to the litium battery of the power supply, thru a blocking diode. Seems to charge quicker and a little better.
      Normal specs indicate the supply to hold a charge of 13.6 vfc and measured it does. However, the battery is a 15 vdc 16 amh battery.
      The regulator circuit of the power supply shuts the charging supply input off when it senses the battery is at 13.6vdc.
      By passing this allows the battery to charge it's full 15 vdc. A little more current and a voltage to play with. This is A mind solar power bank. I imagine that most solar power supplies do the same thing.
      This holds true and most e scooters I have owned.
