I'd love to see Burnout 3 or Burnout Revenge remade. Those games put a lot of emphasis into the spectacle of car crashes and imagine how good they could look in modern graphics. Also we could put the online features back.
Honestly, remakes of the Timesplitters series would be amazing. After all, the only reason people buy Homefront: The Revolution is the hidden full HD Remaster of Timesplitters 2 you can access in it.
@@carolynalsup6417 No, it’s hidden in that you can find and play it on an arcade cabinet, but only the first couple of levels are accessible by default (most of the rest of the game is there, but it’s only accessible with modding).
@@carolynalsup6417 Sadly if you're on PS you have to get close to the end of the game and then use a cheat code within Timesplitters to unlock the full campaign. If you're ever on PC you can mod the game out of it and even remove Homefront so it's not wasting space.

I agree. Heck, why not remake the first two Twisted Metal games, and as a bonus, make it where outside of the Story Mode, the vehicles from both games are playable in any stage and have some FMV endings with the original voice of Calypso making his grand return?
After having played and beaten Tenchu 1 for the first time, I'd love to see a full-on Tenchu 1 (& 2?) Remake to re-spark interest in the series that has been neglected for several years now.
You can really easily play Timesplitters 2 and 3 on any Xbox Series S or X console as it was added to the backwards compatibility update in November '21. They run amazingly well in 4K with upscaled textures and 60fps!
There is an unoffical Morrowind remake in the works, that recreates Morrowind with the graphics from Skyrim. Haven't checked on it in a while, but it's called Skywind, and as far as I know someone is still working on it.
The best mention on this list is Eternal Darkness, which I got back in the day and still have. Legacy of Kain series, Legend of Dragoon, and Lost Odyssey, are at the top of my list.
Not a popular one but Advent Rising. Replayed it recently and the potential was definitely there, it was just too ambitious for the smaller developer at the time.

You know, I think the Zelda 2 should be remade. It's the black sheep of the franchise, but it's endeared by many. Most notably by the president of Inti Creates. Can you images a Zelda game in the style of Mega Man Zero, ZX, & Gunvolt games?

I'd love for New Vegas to get a modern update, especially if it could be reworked to include cut features, NPC traffic, post-game, etc. A fresh build of Goldeneye with modern shooter controls seems like it'd do well especially with a transition to online available multi-player And I'll throw Black and White out as a title because I'd like to be able to buy it and play again. I'd love to see a remake of The Simpsons Game. Quite honestly, it would only take very little to make that successful on current gen, a quick polish up on the graphics and change the hub areas so all 4 main characters can be played at once (instead of having to find bus stops to switch characters), and you'd be onto a winner. In fact, do a remake of Simpsons: Hit & Run too and I'd buy both in a heartbeat!

Finally a channel like this that remembers that there exists Persona games prior to 3. Though I am seriously against changing their style. If anything they really should lean into Kaneko's unique style to truly bring it to life.
This is probably going to be an unpopular idea but I think Duke Nukem deserves the Doom 2016 or Wolfenstein The New Order treatment. Not a POS stuck in development heck but a legitimate well thought out remake. The first couple games in that series were Amazing when they came out and for a number of years after.
@@limpa756 I'll take Morrowind's combat any day over the Oblvion and Skyrim. Oblivion was just a run backwards while swinging a blade or using a spell simulator, and the only interesting element of combat for Skyrim was stealth/archer. Morrowind at least gave a solid stat based combat system; just done in real time. Some may consider it janky by today's standards, but I find it much more interesting than later ES titles.
Have you not heard of Timesplitters Rewind? I'm not sure about their current status, but they've done a lot of work already. The First Mercenaries game would also be a good remake if they brought it up to modern standards such as including swimming, refined controls, and such.
Yes Eternal Darkness is amazing. It's one of my favorite horror games ever. I wish they'd remake it. It inspired the 'sanity effect' which has been used so often since then.
I'd love to see a mafia 2 remake, now I know it's not old, however the game clearly had so much more to give than it could, we already know there was so much the developers had to cut from the game due to development hell, and it was clear that mafia 2 was supposed to be a massive experience, but we were left with a game that, while still great, feels held back in its execution and I think it should be given another chance to shine, and bring us all the features that were meant to be implemented
I'm really happy that I still own my PS2 and all three "TimeSplitters" and I always said that a new entry in the series or even just a remaster of the Trilogy would be so amazing, imagine the possibilities you would have with the Level Editor, being able to create ad SHARE user made levels over the internet!

Would love to see this but the space combat sim has mostly been a dead genre for the past 20 years. Yes we got Elite: Dangerous and No Man's Sky Eventually became decent (not counting Star Citizen in its pre-alpha abominable state) but the fanbase for Freespace is pretty niche. If we get one it would likely be a budget .production or crowdfunded - I would be more optimistic if the excellent Star Wars: Squadrons was successful but sadly it's completely dead now...
I'm a huge fan of TimeSplitters & would love to a remake of the original three games. Even a trilogy collection like the Bioshock & Borderlands ones would be welcome.
I always say this, but Drakan. Both the PC version and the PS2 sequel (I'd really like a third game too, but that is asking a lot!) You run around with a sword, hacking goblins to bits, then hop on a dragon and set things on fire from the sky! Literally all I want in any game! Some light RPG mechanics, an engaging if simple story, solid characters and design. The pc even had some clever for 90s multiplayer.
I can play all these games on original hardware but definitely a new Time Splitters. 2 was my favourite, 3 was a upgrade but 2 seemed better. 1 was good. I can play them right now. Online multiplayer would be a good upgrade and slight tweaking on updates. When I played Time Splitters 2 back in the old days with friends we'd play 4 players with multi tap 4 controllers on a large projector screen, 15 minute death match round's all evening with bots. Good times.
There are also a lot of great DS games that would need a remaster, but it's difficult given the uniqueness of the console. Ghost trick, The world ends with you, Pokémon Mistery Dungeon explorers of the sky etc.
My dream remake is definitely San Francisco Rush 2049. Killer soundtrack, awesome battle and stunt mode, loads of interesting race designs, plus a lot of bizzare secrets. Even if they don't remake it I would at least like to see it on the N64 collection on the switch.
Jedi Academy's remake would be such a nostalgia bomb for me. Finished the game at least 20+ times, with different Force power builds, lightsabers, endings, even saber colours. Then played multiplayer for a good 3 years.

Well good news! Remedy earlier this week announced they are working with R* to remake the first 2 games. So you got most of your first wish :) The 3rd game IMO doesn't need the remake treatment. It still holds up fine. I also agree with SH2 and both Manhunt games. Silent Hill has the best chance but I wouldn't hold my breath on Manhunt 1 and 2.
You're right that MP3 doesn't need a remake (I've been wanting 1 and 2 remade with 3's engine since the third game came out), but the remakes of the first two are on a different engine (e.g. Control), then it'd make sense to just do the trio.
Fatal Frame needs a remake and bad, wonderfully creepy game with an awesome story. That one and Fatal Frame 3 also deserves a remake too. Bundle it all with the remake of 2 and we'll be good to go. Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos Origins are amazing RPGs that need a remake as well. Monolithsoft is known for their amazing games and these two are no exception.
Timesplitters 2 at least has a remaster hidden within Homefront the Revolution. On console you need to play through most of the game to access it, on PC you can install a mod to go straight there
I would say all three of Troika's games deserve a remake. They're great games, especially Arcanum, but they are pretty rough without community patches, and still fairly rough even with them.
Yes! I loved the Conflict games and how they handled playing as 4 characters solo or co-op and giving orders. Shame that Denied Ops killed the series. Somebody should completely remake the Desert Storm games with modern third person gameplay mechanics, bigger sandbox levels, improved stealth and streamlined squad commands.

Vagrant Story is a true gem from the PS1 era, with some of the best storytelling, writing, atmosphere, and depth I've seen in games that stand up even today! A proper remake would retain these elements and fix the and cumbersome UI, which makes combat and crafting a bit too tedious -- especially by today's standards. In fact, there are a lot of similarities between Vagrant Story and the Souls series, so reworking the combat to be an ARPG like the Soulsborne games would be amazing!!
Devil May Cry on RE Engine and plays similar to 5 in ways that make sense to the story. Open the game as Vergil fighting his way to Mundus for an intro, then take control of Dante for events of the original game. Unlock Vergil when you finish the story.
SSX 3 is SOOOOOOOOO much better than Tricky. Never understand why that one isn't as beloved, I found all the celeb voices unnecessary. The single Mountain is amazing, the soundtrack is great, and the characters are still all there, and a bit more grown up. Still play it from time to time.
LOL I still own most of these games, never sell your old consoles kids...... If we are talking Dreamcast/ Gamecube, (which is a lot of this list) would also like a remake of Skies of Arcadia or a sequel. An improved, speed up version of Gladius. A modern version of Simpsons Hit and Run. X-men Legends.
Silent Hill does need a remake, I agree. But it's in the wrong hands. And SH2 and 3 don't need remakes if you ask me, but those games are lost sadly. So maybe a remake would be the best way to experience it. I'm also really looking for remakes of Castlevania SOTN if they won't port it. Maybe an HD-2D style? And Sonic Adventure 1 AND 2. We NEED this.
I agree with a lot of these. One I definitely don't though is Beyond Good and Evil. That game is absolutely perfect as it is, I don't see what a remake could do for it as there would be nothing to change other than updating the graphics, which I think would actually take away from the game if we saw some ultra realistic looking style
Id play jetset radio as is right now. That's the game where actual talent and effort comes in. Music, game play, and style show through and make a non realistic graphic style game can last forever.
Massive yes for JSR & JSRF. Two incredible games, JSRF was the first game I remember having a 100+ hour save file on.

They have to remake the Scarface game. It was amazing, imagine it using the current GTA V engine. They could even get Pacino to do more dialogue.
Doubt they can due to licensing issues. Also, Pacino didn't voice the character in the game because his voice had changed so much.
Regardless if it is on the list or not, Legend of Dragoon deserves a remake.

Death Jr., Infected, Coded Arms, StarCraft Ghost or StarCraft, the Getaway, Midtown Madness, Clay Fighter, Gex, Chameleon Twist, Jumping Flash, Glover, etc..
Morrowind is one of my favorite games of all times.
There's literally mods out there that make the game look better than base Skyrim, so I'm all good.

Oblivion was just a run backwards while swinging a blade or using a spell simulator, and the only interesting element of combat for Skyrim was stealth/archer.
Morrowind at least gave a solid stat based combat system; just done in real time. Some may consider it janky by today's standards, but I find it much more interesting than later ES titles.
Have you not heard of Timesplitters Rewind? I'm not sure about their current status, but they've done a lot of work already. The First Mercenaries game would also be a good remake if they brought it up to modern standards such as including swimming, refined controls, and such.

Yes Eternal Darkness is amazing. It's one of my favorite horror games ever. I wish they'd remake it. It inspired the 'sanity effect' which has been used so often since then.
Apparently I heard it might have happened but Nintendo didnt allowed it.
I'd love to see a mafia 2 remake, now I know it's not old, however the game clearly had so much more to give than it could, we already know there was so much the developers had to cut from the game due to development hell, and it was clear that mafia 2 was supposed to be a massive experience, but we were left with a game that, while still great, feels held back in its execution and I think it should be given another chance to shine, and bring us all the features that were meant to be implemented
Pretty good list. I bought 2 “Timesplitters” games from the Xbox store for less than $10!
I'm really happy that I still own my PS2 and all three "TimeSplitters" and I always said that a new entry in the series or even just a remaster of the Trilogy would be so amazing, imagine the possibilities you would have with the Level Editor, being able to create ad SHARE user made levels over the internet!

Descent Freespace & Freespace 2 deserve a remake, been the best space combat sim game way back in 1998 and 1999
Would love to see this but the space combat sim has mostly been a dead genre for the past 20 years. Yes we got Elite: Dangerous and No Man's Sky Eventually became decent (not counting Star Citizen in its pre-alpha abominable state) but the fanbase for Freespace is pretty niche. If we get one it would likely be a budget .production or crowdfunded - I would be more optimistic if the excellent Star Wars: Squadrons was successful but sadly it's completely dead now...

I'm a huge fan of TimeSplitters & would love to a remake of the original three games. Even a trilogy collection like the Bioshock & Borderlands ones would be welcome.
I always say this, but Drakan. Both the PC version and the PS2 sequel (I'd really like a third game too, but that is asking a lot!)
You run around with a sword, hacking goblins to bits, then hop on a dragon and set things on fire from the sky! Literally all I want in any game! Some light RPG mechanics, an engaging if simple story, solid characters and design. The pc even had some clever for 90s multiplayer.
The cancelled Scalebound game had echoes of this. Drakan is definitely worthy to be brought back.

I can play all these games on original hardware but definitely a new Time Splitters. 2 was my favourite, 3 was a upgrade but 2 seemed better. 1 was good. I can play them right now. Online multiplayer would be a good upgrade and slight tweaking on updates. When I played Time Splitters 2 back in the old days with friends we'd play 4 players with multi tap 4 controllers on a large projector screen, 15 minute death match round's all evening with bots. Good times.
There are also a lot of great DS games that would need a remaster, but it's difficult given the uniqueness of the console.
Ghost trick, The world ends with you, Pokémon Mistery Dungeon explorers of the sky etc.
I wouldn't mind seeing Ghost Hunter for the PS2 reworked. Upgraded graphics would be amazing.

My dream remake is definitely San Francisco Rush 2049. Killer soundtrack, awesome battle and stunt mode, loads of interesting race designs, plus a lot of bizzare secrets. Even if they don't remake it I would at least like to see it on the N64 collection on the switch.
Extermination or Haunting Ground would be a nice remake to come by if possible, but I'm still waiting on the Drakengard Trilogy remade by Yoko Taro
Jedi Academy's remake would be such a nostalgia bomb for me. Finished the game at least 20+ times, with different Force power builds, lightsabers, endings, even saber colours. Then played multiplayer for a good 3 years.

Well good news! Remedy earlier this week announced they are working with R* to remake the first 2 games. So you got most of your first wish :) The 3rd game IMO doesn't need the remake treatment. It still holds up fine. I also agree with SH2 and both Manhunt games. Silent Hill has the best chance but I wouldn't hold my breath on Manhunt 1 and 2.
You're right that MP3 doesn't need a remake (I've been wanting 1 and 2 remade with 3's engine since the third game came out), but the remakes of the first two are on a different engine (e.g. Control), then it'd make sense to just do the trio.

Fatal Frame needs a remake and bad, wonderfully creepy game with an awesome story. That one and Fatal Frame 3 also deserves a remake too. Bundle it all with the remake of 2 and we'll be good to go.
Baten Kaitos and Baten Kaitos Origins are amazing RPGs that need a remake as well. Monolithsoft is known for their amazing games and these two are no exception.

SSX Tricky & Bloodlines are probably my top 2 games that deserve a remaster so it's nice to see them on this list.
Timesplitters 2 at least has a remaster hidden within Homefront the Revolution. On console you need to play through most of the game to access it, on PC you can install a mod to go straight there

I would say all three of Troika's games deserve a remake. They're great games, especially Arcanum, but they are pretty rough without community patches, and still fairly rough even with them.
This was great loved timesplitters , even had a level builder in the multilayer if remember right ,jsr and eternal darkness also loved

Yes! I loved the Conflict games and how they handled playing as 4 characters solo or co-op and giving orders. Shame that Denied Ops killed the series. Somebody should completely remake the Desert Storm games with modern third person gameplay mechanics, bigger sandbox levels, improved stealth and streamlined squad commands.

I'd love a new SSX game but I think that SSX 3 which had free roam on a huge mountain was the better game.

Vagrant Story is a true gem from the PS1 era, with some of the best storytelling, writing, atmosphere, and depth I've seen in games that stand up even today! A proper remake would retain these elements and fix the and cumbersome UI, which makes combat and crafting a bit too tedious -- especially by today's standards. In fact, there are a lot of similarities between Vagrant Story and the Souls series, so reworking the combat to be an ARPG like the Soulsborne games would be amazing!!
Devil May Cry on RE Engine and plays similar to 5 in ways that make sense to the story. Open the game as Vergil fighting his way to Mundus for an intro, then take control of Dante for events of the original game. Unlock Vergil when you finish the story.
There's 2 games I would love a remake or even a remastered version of, pandemonium 1 and 2.
SSX 3 is SOOOOOOOOO much better than Tricky. Never understand why that one isn't as beloved, I found all the celeb voices unnecessary. The single Mountain is amazing, the soundtrack is great, and the characters are still all there, and a bit more grown up. Still play it from time to time.

If we are talking Dreamcast/ Gamecube, (which is a lot of this list) would also like a remake of Skies of Arcadia or a sequel. An improved, speed up version of Gladius. A modern version of Simpsons Hit and Run. X-men Legends.

Silent Hill does need a remake, I agree. But it's in the wrong hands. And SH2 and 3 don't need remakes if you ask me, but those games are lost sadly. So maybe a remake would be the best way to experience it.
I'm also really looking for remakes of Castlevania SOTN if they won't port it. Maybe an HD-2D style?
And Sonic Adventure 1 AND 2. We NEED this.
I agree with a lot of these. One I definitely don't though is Beyond Good and Evil. That game is absolutely perfect as it is, I don't see what a remake could do for it as there would be nothing to change other than updating the graphics, which I think would actually take away from the game if we saw some ultra realistic looking style

Id play jetset radio as is right now. That's the game where actual talent and effort comes in. Music, game play, and style show through and make a non realistic graphic style game can last forever.
