    I'm competing in the lowest level and got so many great and pertinent advice from those world specialists. Thank You so much!

    Linda-Marie Miller should have been the 2020 WCPS Winner! Her delivery was flawless, and the message was spot on! Racism and prejudice is a universal problem. Kudos to her for her bravery to be naked in front of her audience so that she can bring about change. I will always remember her speech!

      Sounds like she delivered an unforgettable message to you. So, you both won!

      @@StageTime Wow! A group of us watched the WCPS that year, and we all had her as number 1! Lol! The impact of her speech will be felt for years to come. Similar to Jennifer Hudson, who was told by Simon Cowell that she was not American Idol material, and she ends up winning an Oscar, and Grammy!

    Preach Ed Tate about not referencing Toastmasters in WCPS. Love...waste of words.

    • @VtRD
      @VtRD 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The only time Toastmasters should be in a contest speech is part of a sentence such as "Fellow Toastmasters, ......"

    • @StageTime

      Agreed!

    Ed Tate on Linda-Marie...thank you for acknowledging her taking a risk!

    • @VtRD

      That was my exact thought. Her risk was huge--for her.

    Good stuff. Historical note - Rory didn't compete with Jim - Winners his two years were Ed Hearn and, when Rory took 2nd, Vikas. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of us.

    I’m competing next month in the District level. Got some good tips today.

    I love what Ed Tate said about DDII. However (comma) the 2021 winner played that card in both speeches and it worked very well for her. In fact, death went over big in both rounds of the international contest. We saw a few dead parents, a dead baby, a nightclub shooting, and Rwandan genocide. I'm eager to see the review this year.

    Kimberly Manning didn’t make it to the Finals but hoping that you guys will critique some of the semi-finals speeches from 2021 contest (Hint: Group 3 speech 6 😏)! Full transparency, Kimberly Manning is typing this comment! LOL

      Well, sounds like she wants free coaching. We only do the Finalists, but we had 25% of the semi-finalists were stage time university members. Maybe you or she can join us and see how we can help. As Ed Tate says, "You can't cheap your way to the top." Go to: www.stagetimeuniversity.com

    Imo, I'd like to see assessments of speeches without contestants present. I think that'd lead to more objectivity

    • @StageTime

      We did not let their presence effect our feedback.

    • @StageTime
      @StageTime  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They were not all on our call, just 2 of our Stage Time Members and Mike Carr

      I think 3rd place was there too

      @@ashleyching3166 Yes, she was. But not all of them and it really does not color our comments.
