      There is a difference between humility and slavery. And that’s why the “on your knees” part was qualified with “as a slave”.

      I disagree with that quote, it is better to live as a slave than to die on your feet.
      Why?
      Because if you die on your feet than what does it help you that you were on your feet? What does your freedom profit you? You still cant do anything because you are gone. You have no life, no choice, no freedom, no hope... your gone.
      But if you live as a slave, then sure, you may not be free... for now... but there is still hope that you could be. What little options you have and what little choice you have can still be utilized to help you regain your freedom, or circumstances could change. All hope is not lost, because as long as there is life in your body, there is hope for your future.
      If you die on your feet having freedom at death, what does that freedom help you? Tell me, just how much will that freedom benefit you as you die? NOTHING! Absolutely nothing. So it is definitely better to live as a slave on your knees than to die on your feet.

      Sure.
      That's one way to look at it.
      And if your acts in slavery help empower your slavers to enslave or kill those you cared about it has no bearing on you.
      As you did so as a slave.
      None of it was by choice, right?

    As an INTP I think my chaos is embodied in my stangance. That's because my Si child is discpline, loyalty and long term memory. My focus on the negative experiences feeds the stagnance. My parent function Ne maintains order by helping me explore and try again to have positive experiences.

    In Socionics the super ego is attached to the hip with the ego. So as an INTP under normal conditions wherever Ti goes, Fi goes with it. So if I think of good things, I feel good things. If I think of something I don't like, I feel bad about the thing I am thinking about. Under adverse conditions negative thinking leads to negative feelings which then take over thoughts. But again Ti/Fi is still tied to the hip. So a strong, healthy ego is the best way to help the superego. Eg. as an INTP healthy thoughts = healthy feelings.

    • @timesnewroman1802
      @timesnewroman1802 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats the socionics role function, not superego as a whole. Its something that you use if your ego fails, not in the way you described.

    • @jaredvaughan1665
      @jaredvaughan1665 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@timesnewroman1802 In one popular model in socionics both the role and suggestive function both have a strength of 5% (within each of the top and bottom 4 functions.) Yet we value the suggestive function at 45% (and the role function 5%) and therefore we actively seek ways, using the leading function, to satisfy the vulnerable or inferior function, although with limited success. So the role function is mostly unconscious and subservient to the leading function. While the suggestive function, because we value it so much are more aware of it and that it is a weakness because we are not strong at it. So as an INTP many times in my life I recall being told I have limited empathy (Fe) even though I was constantly thinking of strategies to get people to like me or have positive Fe toward me, which I often failed at due to Fe being more important than Ti in human relations. So I could care less what people thought of me (Te or ignoring function) but a great deal about how people felt about me. Interesting I could better guess at what people thought about me than how they felt about me. And though less valued and utilized the ignoring function is actually stronger than the suggestive or inferior function. So the role is both hidden and weak and therefore subserviant to the leading or hero function. But when the leading function becomes exhausted by outside forces the normally unconscious functions start to come out including the role function. Now I recognize there are differences in how CSJ and socionics view how this comes out. And I'm not arguing forcefully for either. But I can speak from personal experience as an INTP when things are going well my Fi is ignored and I take nothing personally. But when they are not my feelings throw me around in dark places and everything and every failure becomes personal. So I find other people liking me (Fe) leads to good thoughts (which is why the suggestive function is so valued.) And good thoughts keeps my role function happy and unconscious. When people dont like me then only my hero Ti can have a chance to keep me afloat other wise I sink into my role function and I become even more vulnerable as I make bad choices that expose my vulnerable function. As an INTP my vulnerable function is Se. And I can tell you when I am in my superego I do some times get hostile toward the sensory world and seek to destroy external objects. In fact I recall destroying a few video game joy sticks that way. Anyway sorry if this answer is so long. I didnt mean it that way. I will say I've studied typology for 10 years and abandoned mbti in favor of the enneagram. It was Chase and Chase alone that brought me back to Jungian typology which led me to socionics which I hated to study at first but now find it superior to MBTI. Thanks for your comment.

    Dear Chase, I've literally been chasing my dreams for the past decade (and been recording them for 2 years now) and it feels like you were there watching them (although it seems more logical that you and I went through the same transition ;-)
    Over the years I've watched a lot of Jungian stuff on TH-cam and since April this year I’m discussing my dreams with a Jungian analyst, but never before have I had such an epiphany whereby all the pieces of the puzzle (= all the characters in my dreams and their behavior) were falling in their place. I’ve written all my insights down (it took me 5 hours!) and even today the insights keep popping up in my head.
I just wanted to let you know that I - and my dreams - fully support your 4 sides of the mind theory, and that it holds a lot of potential for (severely traumatized) people and for those who wants to reach enlightenment. Forever greatful!

    also, as far as I can tell, the only strong (in terms of how often it gets brought up) argument twfp has for you being an ENTJ is that you use a whiteboard. I like the whiteboard, and I've learned a lot from your channel. Now, I think any good teacher knows learning is a very visual thing and that simply flipping on a camera and rambling off random tangents in your head while simultaneously hitting a bong isn't exactly....efficient?

    @CS Joseph; I actually went to a dance workshop this summer, and my particular intensive over 6 days, was all about dancing as slowly as possible. Something that I walked away with that was extraordinarily profound as an INTP is just how RIGHT being as slow as possible feels to me. Every step, every motion just becomes so much more deliberate and *successful*.
    But, in life, we are forced to speed up so much that it often feels like our decisions aren't actually our own.
    It taught me so much about WHY I've been able to integrate before, but why it also tumbles down. I own a food business and for 3 years my ESFJ and ISFP were so in-sync. Owning a bar made me tap into my ESFJ side, and making food helped me tap into my ISFP. BUT, it all happened rather quickly, and I gave way too much power to my partners. I'm still involved in the business but I see them making terrible decisions (which, also goes with your video about never ignoring people with Ne -- we really do see the fucking future).
    Anyway, after that dance intensive I feel soooooo back on the ball and ready for what's next. SLOWWWWWW DOWNNNNNN. :)
    Sidenote: this is also why most SUCCESSFUL entrepreneurs are ACTUALLY 40 AND OVER. And guess who's 38, bitch!

    The whole concept of everything tends towards chaos is that's the default.
    We can still use energy to store energy in one place.
    We can still condense mass into one place.
    It just takes more energy to do such.
    So no, if anything what you've said proves that our souls tend towards chaos as well.
    And that it is by conscious decision and action that we can move it in a more orderly manner.
    I'd like to think of it more like a muscle.
    Disuse of order makes it more difficult to use.
    Atrophy occurring over time.
    But repeated use makes it easier.
    The same would apply to humility and wisdom in this context.
    Repeat conscious decision.
    I do like how in depth you've gone in this lecture.
    It helped me learn a lot.

    Darth Vader represents raw Talent with his natural ability with the force while Obi wan represents hard work because believe it or not, he wasn’t naturally gifted with the force.
    And of course in the end the raw talent becomes over confident in its own ability eventually causing its downfall ending up with Darth Vader nearly dying and learning a very important lesson.

    Note in addition to my previous comment. If you see INFJs with very high Ni and high Ti it would be good to warn them that there is danger to their ego. I began this journey by changing behaviors to create different outcomes over a year ago. I was an INFJ A5 so yes a tortoise. My Ni before the experience was often 100 with Fe and Ti in range of 90s Se was in the toilet. After the experience Ni 96 although it was about 91/92 sooner after. Same with Fe and Ti just barely being lower than at their highest and Se at 72 in the beginning now slightly more increased since. I thought this might be temporary but since cognitive functions have slightly increased. (Here to stay) I had to get used to this Se for an INFJ 5 Se was only there to give my Ni and Ti information. Now it’s a means of experiencing the world rather than merely observing it. Thanks for your video as well. It was an interesting one ♥️.

    I don't know if you've read Dante's Inferno, but the difference between the Inferno and Paradise is that the people in Paradise have a more perfected form of love while the people in the Inferno had the same love but twisted in various ways, similar to the self twisting into the self. The reason for "sin nature" is that we are led astray by following our own twisted desires (James 1:14-15). This is why nirvana and enlightenment is only attained by eliminating the unnecessary suffering that is born of desire. But Buddha rejected the temptation to have nirvana for only himself and returned in order to share what he had learned, and serve others in love. It is only when the soul is properly ordered that Satan (or the serpent or dragon) can be overcome by way of denial of the self which overcomes temptation and aspires (aspirational) to the highest ideal, which is God.
    Friedrich Nietzsche said "He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster." But we must fight monsters, and the greatest monster is not the monster out in the world, but the monster inside of each of us (super ego), the same serpent that tempted us in the Garden of Eden. But how do we overcome monsters without becoming monsters ourselves? Jesus and Paul tell us we must not resist evil (Matthew 5:39), but rather love our enemy (Matthew 5:44), and overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
    You said that life is not about right or wrong and true or false, but about wisdom. But "Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding," (Job 28:28). I would argue that wisdom is precisely where the truth and righteousness meet, at the apex of Order and Good. You also said "Better to die upon your feet than to live upon your knees," but this is more reminiscent of John Milton's Satan who says "Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven," than Jesus who says "The greatest among you will be your servant. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted," (Matthew 23:11-12).
    The world and everything in it will eventually pass away, but "Three things will last forever--faith, hope, and love--and the greatest of these is love," (1 Corinthians 13:13) and "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends," (John 15:13). This is the Way, the Truth, and the Life; the strait gate, the narrow path, and the eye of the needle to true enlightenment, the way to the river that produces the tree of life whose leaves will heal the nations (Revelation 22:1-2).

    Enlightenment is a psychological shift that when happens u realize there is nothing inside u called u .. ur relation to sensory experiences(6 senses) in general changes , it becomes complete as the result of meditation as meditation increases concentration , sensory clarity and equanimity. from those experiences is the sense of self, u experience it fully that u realize it's made of two conflicting powers (yiin and yang) that demolish each other i.e it doesn't exist .. and now there is no separation , u see that u r the universe , u no longer fear death (ur ego is already dead) , a complete experience of pain stops it from turning into suffering and that of happiness turns it into fulfillment .. a complete experience is such a paradoxical thing.
    that's from Shinzen Young's model of spirituality.

    36:31 Also, one point to remember regarding religious quests to eradicate evil is that adversity is necessary and that man must be tested. I believe that because of agency and that "men are that they might have joy", this is necessary. That's the reason that religion must not fix this problem entirely for now (add more perspective) in the short run but, as a Mormon, we hear that in the end that religion will fix this problem and then enjoy "Millennial rest" as mankind enters the Millennium. -INTJ

      Mushrooms are a gateway to the superego. The reason people have bad trips is because their four sides aren't integrated.

    • @Hybe123
      @Hybe123 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@thepsychocybe7078 I believe all mind altering substances are a gateway to superego if you're not balanced mentally. Alcohol places me in all four sides of my mind, usually the subconscious because I'm a social drinker, but there were times when I wasn't in a good place mentally (stress, sleep deprivation, environmental factors) then it put me into my superego. Nothing bad happened, but that's the equivalent of having a bad trip on drugs. So I believe drugs aren't bad in and of themselves, what matters is your mental state beforehand. If you have pressing issues in your life, of course drugs aren't gonna be a good idea.

    • @thepsychocybe7078
      @thepsychocybe7078 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Hybe123 Your last statement is where you're wrong in regard to psychedelics. So long as you're mature and integrated, using drugs like mushrooms can be a catalyst for problem solving. Pressing issues, as long as they're external, won't send you into a bad trip. However, I don't recommend drugs like alcohol or weed if you have problems whether they be external or internal.

    • @Hybe123
      @Hybe123 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@thepsychocybe7078 Well, I do admit that I have zero experiences with psychedelics so I'm not gonna argue against your point but something tells me DMT and psilocybin aren't things to take lightly and recreationally. I'd use that stuff with caution and a clear mind. From your experience it helps you solve deep problems you have for months? Dunno, seems kind of an expedient solution to me... Must be my Ne nemesis.

    "We often study diligently to guard against and correct ourselves of the vices of concupiscence which belong to a sensual and animal nature, and this inward conflict which the body wages adversus carnem [Gal. 5,17] is truly a spectacle worthy of God and of His Angels. But, alas, how rarely do we use this diligence and caution to conquer spiritual vices, of which pride is the first and the greatest of all, and which, sufficed of itself to transform an Angel into a demon!" Okay Chase, I just watched the video again, on the big screen and wrote out the information you are teaching us so I can use my "senses" to try to make sense of it. Still, love the wand, audio good, and I love your non-wired self, it adds to expressing your passion!
    Here is my question, as an ISFJ, would the application of your model look like this? I need to focus on living in compassion, empathy, service to others (Fe) while learning to balance my own needs (Fi- while learning and expressing what those are) and using the Ti logically versus critically towards myself and others?
    PS- I have also realized with your deep understanding and knowledge of the types that if you knew more details about my past, you could figure out all my passwords! You have shed light on my ISFJness.

    I like what you said about freedom of beliefs and how you are perfectly fine with theirs if they are fine with yours. That's exactly how I look at it. I'm not trying to change you I just want to help you help yourself. It's hard to get people to trust that though. I find it hard to absorb everything with just one watch. I get to pondering one thing at a time. I probably rewind 10 times a lecture because I didn't hear while I'm thinking.

    Yo Chase just sayin in terms of presentation and Se you don't always need to make it "professional" it just needs to have a consistent theme. Like for example Lord of the Rings has a rough feel to it because of the type of film they used. And when you watch the hobbit they used a different kind of film it was like 4 times sharper or something i forget. But my point is people didn't like it as much because of the already established asthetic. Not saying stay the same , improve but the manner in which you do so should be organic and reflect your presentation style. Be authentic but largely consistent.
