Okay and? What's the issue? You're not going to realistically have 12 teams in any given year than can actually compete for the NC or even be competitive.
@@RICOJEEZUS what makes them bad? UGA and TX had a back and forth SEC title game and I saw a ton of people complaining about how "bad" that game was too. The reality is most people on the internet are just miserable in real life and complain online.
No. However, Tennessee losing was hilarious to watch the SEC Narrative fall apart in Big 10 country. Alabama, Ole Miss, and South Carolina definitely didn't belong in the College Football Playoffs! Maybe Nico should transfer to a Big 10 school, like Penn State, where he can learn for a year under Drew Allar to prep for some NFL training!
The "narrative" falls apart because of one bad game to the team that realistically if they play to their maximum can be anyone in CFB? This isn't the argument you think it is.
SEC man before the Ohio St vs Tennessee game. “i just means more to us son! What are Yall gonna do? Next year it may be 15 SEC teams in the 12 team playoff!” After Ohio State drug Tennessee around Ohio Stadium like a dead body for 4 hours…..”Crickets” Lane Kiffin…someone cut your internet? Got mighty quiet.
The problem is that the conferences are so large that they don’t play everyone in their conference. It is hard to determine who are the best teams in the conference.
Just change the Conference Championship winners to guaranteed spots rather than byes; seed the field after the Championships; then give byes to the top 4 seeds. Everything would be better -- including the first round games.
D2 allows 28 teams and FCS allows 24 teams to play in their playoffs. I think $ talks which is why it took so long for FBS to get to a playoff in the first place.
This is how you create parity, by letting them compete. You think programs like Gonzaga, Butler or even Duke back in the day just were born overnight? No, they took their knocks but got exposure (not exposed). They had blowout losses, but got new recruits and came back better each decade.
This is a perfect example on why there should never be more than an 8 team playoff because there are no more than 8 elite teams which can win it all. The rest are pretenders.
You all are two young for when we had it best. Before the BCS, we would have a New Year’s Day where 3-4 teams had a chance to be National Champions. Sure it was subjective, but it was fun because there were four games that mattered if the outcomes came out a certain way. And the debate was more fun t then than it is now.
CFB will never have 12 teams that could realistically win the title in a year. Realistically you could argue maybe 6-8 at best. Also, if you truly want more parity, put a cap on the NIL because right now the NIL is really only allowing the programs with big time money to go get the best portal players. You aren't seeing really good portal players transfer to Boise or SMU, or AZST.
Get rid of the committee and take out the human bias. Use the old BCS computer model to rank the teams and seed 1 - 12. Get rid of the auto bids and auto seeding.
I agree with everything you said EXCEPT I want to keep the autobids. Top 5 conference champs are guaranteed in. If 2 or 3 conference champs are ranked outside of the top 12, they can push the 10-12th ranked teams out. They don’t get to complain. The GO5 teams deserve a shot to prove why they do or don’t belong over a decade or so before the format is changed. One year isn’t enough. They shouldn’t get guaranteed byes though. I’d even be fine with expanding the field to 16 and getting rid of byes entirely and guaranteeing that every single team that goes 8-0 or 9-0 in conference AND wins their conference title game is guaranteed in. On years when there werent 9 undefeated-in-conference conference champs, it gives more spots to the Alabamas, South Carolinas, Ole Misses, and Miamis. Yes, I’m fine with seeing blowouts. The sport is full of blowouts. Division 1 FBS is the ONLY sports division in ANY sport in ANY division that doesn’t guarantee each conference champion a sport and I’m not even calling for that. Just to put all undefeated-in-conference conference champions in.
2/3 of the BCS was made up with human polls. I don't know why people think the BCS didn't have human bias. Still would prefer this though over the committee.
@@matthewgrantham6352 I just want to get rid of the human bias. I don't like auto bids. All of the conferences are not equal. In fact they are very different. @@matthewgrantham6352 there's massive parity between the top 4 conferences. Yes, I said 4 because there isn't a 5th conference that's relevant to this conversation. The 4 team playoff era first games had a slightly larger average margins of victory.
