Glad you enjoyed. It's definitely one of my West Sussex favorites. Other than the people at the reservoir and at the viaduct I didn't see many people

Excellent and I get that sense of foreboding of getting outdoors and it’s sometimes like a paralysis, can’t shake it.

Thank you. Funny how that feeling works...and I agree, just can't shake it

Tell me about it...need sun, long days and dry trails, and a tent and adventure.

Wow, that viaduct! It was stunning to see. That brick work too, a work of art! Thanks for sharing. Lovely video again. Merry Christmas, Ceri and Kat 🎅👍❤☕❤☕

I know...pretty epic. I think it's a gem of the south...most people don't realize that we actually have stuff down this way that is just as stunning as in the north. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Hope you both have a great Christmas too

Nice vid CJ and nice words too - may have to pay this place a visit, anything that combines my two favourite pastimes of walking and railways is awesome to me!

Thank you and absolutely. Definitely check this one out. The viaduct is definitely epic. Most people don't realize we have something in the south that rivals the ones up north.

What do they say, 'something small is better than nothing at all.' Good time out in the end. Mark

Awesome! I live just 5 minutes up the road from here. Done this walk many times. Not so good this time of year mind you! Very muddy! The viaduct is possibly the most elegant in the country. Certainly is impressive & worth a visit to anyone passing by. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas to you - Andy

Thanks Amdy. It certainly is a gorgeous piece of construction in a beautiful place. Very muddy right now...was calf-deep in water and mud last year when I first did this route.

I forgot to mention, the rock you showed at the end is a hard sandstone. Sometimes it’s called Weald stone as it common throughout this area. If you ever visit Wakehurst place, most of the house is built from it. It was an ancient seabed millions of years ago. Sometimes the odd fossil shows up in it of sea creatures that are dinosaurs years old 😎😉

Very cool. Thanks for the info. I have every plan to visit Wakehurst as it is local and also NT...love to know the history of places before I go for myself, but also to share on here.

Really enjoyed this one CJ. I live 3-4 miles north of Balcombe and go through the area on my road bike every week. The viaduct certainly is lovely. The rocks in the area are sandstone and some of the exposures are popular with rock climbers. When I was (much) younger I used to dabble (very badly) with this.
I suspect that your walk is a mud bath at the moment 🤣. Seasons greetings to you ⛄🌲

Thanks...good to hear people are enjoying the day hikes. This video was made when it was much drier than it is right now but did it last year when the water/mud was over my ankles in places. I would love to connect with others who climb those rocks...my parents always called me a goat!

@@WilderhopeAdventures If I remember rightly (going back 35 years) I used to go to a place near East Grinstead. I think it still exists and is called Stone Farm Rocks.
