Yeah - they also asked another pastor in that small town about the 'church' and he said that neither the church nor pastor ever existed in his town (as far as he knew). But maybe he's just being a playa hater.
If you haven't seen it, Garfunkel and Oates did a song in a similar vein called "The Loophole." I went to a christian school, so everything in that song is correct. And I've probably heard more racial slurs at church than anywhere else. And I grew up in a mostly East and South Asian community, but the churches were mostly white. We had one black guy at a church I went to and they literally made him breakdance to DC Talk. Not a joke. I was too young to understand how cringe it was. They treated the guy like he was just entertainment, not a person. But saying Jesus is his n-word is something I can absolutely believe would be going on in a white church. To be fair, if he existed, he would have been black.
