    The tomato (see pronunciation) is the edible, red fruit of Solanum lycopersicum, commonly known as a tomato plant, which belongs to the nightshade family, Solanaceae. The species originated in Central and South America. The Nahuatl (Aztec language) word tomatl gave rise to the Spanish word "tomate", from which the English word tomato originates.
    Numerous varieties of tomato are widely grown in temperate climates across the world, with greenhouses allowing its production throughout the year and in cooler areas. The plants typically grow to 1-3 meters (3-10 ft) in height and have a weak stem that often sprawls over the ground and vines over other plants. It is a perennial in its native habitat, and grown as an annual in temperate climates. An average common tomato weighs approximately 100 grams (4 oz)
    Its use as a food originated in Mexico, and spread throughout the world following the Spanish colonization of the Americas.

    I did grow Pinocchio orange and Orange Hat and had a similar experience. I thought they would only push one batch of fruit, but then all these suckers started popping again! I grow them indoors so I let them ride for a full year. The flavor of the 3rd batch of fruit was dull, compared to the first two.

    Oh my gosh I don’t know if I can cut my plant like that. 😂😂😂😂. I’m confused- do we do this after it fruits once to make it produce another round?

    That was great. I'm harvesting my micro dwarfs now and thought they were done producing. Now I'm excited to see how many harvests I can get. I was going to start new ones for indoors over winter but may not have to now. Thanks.

      keep in mind it doesn't always work. if you prune to late in the plants life they may be to far gone to come back but give it a try anyways! good luck! : )

    That is so nice to know that you can give them new life. I want to grow a supply of tomatoes indoors and was thinking I would have to keep replanting. Maybe I will not have to as much 😀

      @@HeirloomReviews Thought I would stop by and give you an update.
      After doing this for 1 year in my indoor garden, it does work. However, the later harvests do not seem to produce as many tomatoes per plant. But you can have a lot of plants growing as they do not take up much room when they are pruned like this. I do the same with my peppers. You can cut them down to the stem, and they will grow back and produce again. Peppers seem to produce more the second time around : )

    I got some tomato seeds from etsy that were labeled tiny tim, but it grows like a regular indeterminate cherry. Good tomatoes, but not what I paid for.

      @jacquesstevens4920 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That happened to one of mine, I started multiple seedlings and the one I moved to a bigger pot early as a very young seedling just went crazy but the rest that I let fill out the seed tray before moving stayed dwarf. I ended up donating it to my mom who has a real outdoor garden so maybe you're supposed to kind of stunt them to keep them small.

    Should I cut off the flowers from a fairly mature super dwarf Geranium Kiss tomato before I plant it?
