Something that really stings about Shania’s situation is that her father is implied to be the descendent of the Founder Reid, Panacea, while her mother married into the family. He lived up to the example set by his ancestors Reyn and Sharla, even implied to be in good terms with house Vandham despite their political differences, but her mother was so obsessed with the family name that she ran it into the ground and killed her daughter for it. In Aionios, this is their legacy.
The one flaw this game had was the lack of a "Kill Shania's Mom" sidequest. The true evil villain of the game.
Poor Joran 😭
It still feels so surreal to meet characters from the previous game. Monolith Soft did a really good job of creating games that can be played separately, but when you play them together, it's another experience.

Shenia side quest was so good, I didn’t wanted to know anything about her after all she did and then we ended up crying 😢
I loved that quest. Absolutely one of my favorites and seeing how complex the relationship between her and Ghondor.... broke my heart. I know they both cared about each other so much but Shania was deeply in pain.
Before Shania quest: I hate her
After Shania quest: I love her
2:19:16 The lines from Shania and Ghondor right before their final clash are both some of the strongest voice acting in the game, rivaling even N's emotion. Like wow you can feel the desperation in both of them.
I loved that quest so much. Shania and Ghondor are such wonderful and complicated characters.
I just want Shania to have a nice burrito from a food truck and enjoy it in the park with her friends. Is that so much to ask for...
They really said "here take chapter 5 emotional damage,.... not enough how about some chapter 6 Joran pain on top"

Nia was already my favorite character ever of all time, but in 3 her trying to act all refined and noble while muttering curses is so funny to me

- You can actually see both Joran and Dirk as two different Mumkhars - Dirk being the more negative Mumkhar, leaning toward his uncontrollable cruelty, while Joran focuses more on his inferiority complex, his wish to be as capable as the heroes he knew.
- Heh, good thing Nia is a Healer Blade.
- I often wonder if Aionios is a physical world stuffed in a pocket dimension (like the Bionis/Mechonis world was in XC1), or if it's like a kind of virtual reality...I mean, Z himself is like a corrupted AI.
- "You're finally home..." "Heewa..." {dries eyes} Yup...Still gets me every time.
- Remember what Dirk said about dreams, strong memories that linger even after rebirth? I guess it's the same for Ethel and Cammuravi.
- 1:32:35 Heh! As expected from a Vandham.
- My favorite detail regarding Crys: he goes by "Consul Crys" in battle, not "Consul C" or anything.
- Even if Shania's actions can't be condoned, it's at least understandable what drove her to such lengths.
- That statue that Shania's mother was immobilized near? It represents the mentor of House Reid's founder.
- {snrk} Okay, kinda funny that Moebius S weaponizes her enlarged twintails.
- If Shania does get restored in the Bionis world, whether as a Citizen or a Kevesi...I do hope her technical ancestors (Reyn and Sharla) can adopt her.

Yet there is still a small amount of happiness in Milano story, perhaps the melody of the heart connected to her memories so she could remember again
It’s too bad not many saw Senas Side story, which painted the normally hateful Shania in a more tragic light. The Prequal even makes her fate sadder, the fact that her family name were the one to suffer such tragedy. If anything it should have been Matthew’s sisters legacy that should have been tarnished.
In the end it’s true, some don’t know what makes of themselves in life. And such despair can drive one insane, Joran and Shania are examples
And both Lanz and Ghondor could have been more open friends, perhaps such tragedy would not have happened
Ghondor's hard-as-nails attitude is certainly helpful on the battlefield, but it definitely has some drawbacks. You can look at the comparison of Mio and Sena to Ghondor to Shania (or even Lanz to Joren) and yeah, Shania and Sena come from similar feelings of inadequacy and uncertainty about their places in the world. But while Mio does all she can to lift Sena up, Ghondor lashes out at Shania. She doesn't mean to, and I'm certainly not suggesting that she's solely responsible for Shania's actions, what with the uncaring mother and the weight of the world being what it is, but I feel like Ghondor could have picked Shania up emotionally, and even a bit more effort on her part would have prevented what came after. It's why despite so many people liking Ghondor as a character, she's actually my least-favorite hero companion as a character. She has some redeeming values, but I can't get over how she treats Shania overall.
"Jin did nothing wrong." I mean, sure, Rex came back from the dead, but Haze kinda didn't...
Shania's mom cowering in front of the statue of Shulk during that quest gives me so much chills
She should have given her a little slap... as a treat.

I think they should have explained why Nia didn't die, at least for the people who didn't play the previous games.

I mean they did. They said the queens have longer lifespans than a normal human. I don't think saying Nia is a flesheater would do anything to explain why she has a long lifespan to someone who didn't play Xenoblade 2.
