I'm a big assassin's creed fan and whilst the film was far from perfect, I think it is probably still the best video game movie made so far (or maybe warcraft) and I gained even more appreciation after learning that most of it was not cgi. Certainly doesn't deserve the 17% on rotten tomatoes although I get that it doesn't stand on it's own without the game lore very well at all. Felt more like it was made for people already fans as opposed to the general moviegoer.
Ben Spurrier it's like the bones are there for a great film if you gave it another hour to develop the characters absent the 15 minutes for credits getting it to the two hour mark.
What I liked the most is that even though the plot relies a lot on AC lore it could have easily ended up being cheap and lazy fan service. Which it didn't. It still was it's own entity. For a movie so underrated you gotta hand them credit for pulling this off because a lot of better rated movies often have a hard time in getting this right
It's kind of sad how the blades of the protagonists we grown so attached to, the blades that have forged time, the blades that have withstood the likes of entire armys have fallen into the wrong hands...
I love how in the deleted scenes, they had representations of Duncan Walpole and Baptiste standing along with the other assassins....even though both of them were traitors to the Creed and joined the Templars. Oops. XD
interestingly, if you read the novelization (which actually makes the movie make more sense and more enjoyable, imo) they give little snippets of the other assassin's. duncan and baptiste's descendants both were ashamed of what their ancestors did and were willing to do anything to get redemption for their lineage. and since one of them died in the fight at the end (i think duncan's descendant), i'd say he got his family honor back. it's also why they were so distrusting of cal.

Why does this movie have modern songs? It should be orchestrated. Some of the best historical movies such as "The Last Samurai", "Gladiator", and "Dances With Wolves" had brilliant scores.
Watched this last night for the first time. Really enjoyed it. Ticked all the boxes for AC for me, even hinted at some Isu stuff too. Abstergo, Assassins, Isu, Parkour. Awesome film

yes Edward did kill Duncan but that was only after he decided to sail to the west Indies and rendezvous with Torres but Edward was a pirate then and not an Assassin he honestly didn't know about any of them just killed Walpole in self-defense and tried to make a quick buck by selling the DNA cube to to the Templars and then returning to his wife in Bristol
Sage Zetsu edward did becoming assassin at the end of the series, and after the game ended he sail to london and become master assassin until he got killed

When lynch talks to sofie/sofia (dont remeber her name 😂), same wall u mention connors outfit on aguilars wall, U can see were they Show Lynch name on the wall, the first thing u see on the wall. U can see a bit of wraped newa paper: Guy dies in bar fight outside of night club... This was the best easter egg in movie and nobody havent seen it yet. I ask u people, Who was a bartender in the Assassins creed universe?? Well the answers is pretty clear, Its Desmond miles :D Got hype level 1000 when I saw that paper wrap :D u should be able to see where the night club was, in small writing, its where desmond worked as a bartender before his life ended and was shiped over to abstergo :D

You don't get, Abstergo made fake news to hide Desmond kidnap back in the first Assassin's creed, the world doesn't know about Desmond sacrifice, to the world out there Desmond died in a bar fight as a nobody back in September 1 2012.
Ok, but what about the hidden symbols in the menu? There is a hidden Assassin's symbol in the main menu, and a hidden Absturgo symbol in the Special Feature menu. They both take u to different things but only for a couple of seconds. I still have not figured out what these are.
This film had huge potential for an Ezio reference, and they totally blew it... The scene in which Aguilar meets Columbus was the perfect opportunity to mention Ezio. His name would've been enough. He did not have to be in the film in person. That would've blown it out of proportion as the movie wasn't about him but Aguilar and Callum. According to Ubisoft's official lore, Ezio met Columbus in Italy before Columbus could reach Spain. In the film, he even reveals to be a friend of the Creed. That's based on his encounter with Ezio. Aguilar should've asked who it was that saved Columbus in Italy. Columbus' answer: "Ezio Auditore." That would've made the audience go nuts in the movie theater. Unfortunately, it was a missed opportunity. If they can have the descendants of Yusuf Tazim, Shao Jun, Duncan Walpole and Baptiste in the film, and if it turns out that Callum is a descendant of Arno Dorian, then why not at least mention Ezio Auditore by name??? I just don't get it...

Aguilar's outfit fits so well in the origins overall game and environment sucks the movie was a flop I haven't seen it don't care about the spoilers if these count as them but at least it was an assassin's Creed movie not like odyssey and Valhalla 2nd had assassin's and use of the blade but they just pushed that aside and made the assassin the villain at the end but odyssey had the ORIGIN the fuckin beginning the start of the brotherhood and blades and she/he doesn't even use them during or after the dlc they stuck with their god damn broken spear
im confused because in assassins creed Altair is miss the finger, in the game Da Vinci alters the device to fit Ezio's hand so he doesnt have to lose the finger, so doesnt that mean da vinci changed it not altair? I dont remember this codex you are talking of
FistySpacePirate if you play ac2 and then read all the codex entries you will come across a section where altaiir is trying to figure out how to change the blade so others won't have to lose their ring finger and also if you read the secret crusade you will learn this and get more context overall hope this helps
The blade in the movie and ac1 comes out where the ring finger is at that point in time the blade had to be inside the glove and they didn't know that as long as you keep your fingers spread you could activate the blade without slicing your ring finger off
I'm thinking it only served as a homage or it shows AguilarDeNerha's commitment to the Brotherhood but the hidden blade they used did not require to remove the ring finger.

Assassin's Creed movie would've been so much better if they kept Yusuf and Shao. Basically everyone I know that is a fan of Assassin's Creed knows that Yusuf is my favorite assassin
It seems that the music for the movie was chosen by somebody who wanted to intentionally ruin the movie. It's so out of place that I'm not sure whether to cringe or to cry. If a rock music fan who was just pulled off the street and threatened at gunpoint to provide the soundtrack, it would still be worse than what they what the studios came up with. Just compare the opening sequence's background music from any of the games and compare that with the abomination in the movie. It is so out of place that you can half-expect the rotoscoped car from Heavy Metal to come burning down.
As a huge assassins creed fan, I can say there was a lot of bad aspects of the movie. For starters when I was watching it it didnt even seem like it was Assassins creed related at all at times, plus the games take place mainly in the past than in the present. The movie on the other hand took place more in the present than in the past.
I think they focused on what's going on the outside world in animus, and maybe they just focused on the new gen assassin's trying to revive the lost brotherhood.

The blade in the movie and ac1 comes out where the ring finger is at that point in time the blade had to be inside the glove and they didn't know that as long as you keep your fingers spread you could activate the blade without slicing your ring finger off
I'm thinking it only served as a homage or it shows AguilarDeNerha's commitment to the Brotherhood but the hidden blade they used did not require to remove the ring finger.

Assassin's Creed movie would've been so much better if they kept Yusuf and Shao. Basically everyone I know that is a fan of Assassin's Creed knows that Yusuf is my favorite assassin

It seems that the music for the movie was chosen by somebody who wanted to intentionally ruin the movie. It's so out of place that I'm not sure whether to cringe or to cry. If a rock music fan who was just pulled off the street and threatened at gunpoint to provide the soundtrack, it would still be worse than what they what the studios came up with. Just compare the opening sequence's background music from any of the games and compare that with the abomination in the movie. It is so out of place that you can half-expect the rotoscoped car from Heavy Metal to come burning down.

As a huge assassins creed fan, I can say there was a lot of bad aspects of the movie. For starters when I was watching it it didnt even seem like it was Assassins creed related at all at times, plus the games take place mainly in the past than in the present. The movie on the other hand took place more in the present than in the past.
I think they focused on what's going on the outside world in animus, and maybe they just focused on the new gen assassin's trying to revive the lost brotherhood.
