there's a specific reason for turning the control column to the right after touchdown?
Crosswind control after touchdown. If you let the controls out as soon as you touchdown it’s possible to strike an engine on the ground.
Is it true that Mildenhall has really bad crosswinds?
Yup. Almost always a crosswind and often they are quite strong (15-20mph or more)
