China's Brutal Job Market: Most Men Turn Couriers, Women Become Streamers, Even PhDs Remain Jobless

- etizens shared their frustrations. One person commented, "It's tough for women; at 28, unmarried and childless, finding a job is impossible, and I don't want to become a livestreamer, but I feel like I'm starving
There's a popular joke online that encapsulates the situation well: men deliver food, and women livestream. After women finish streaming and get hungry, they order food, which the men deliver before tuning into the women's streams, creating a closed loop. Sadly, this is not far from the truth.

Once again, when the government says that we need to increase the birth rate or import third-world workers because of labour shortages, there is no labour shortages. It just means that there are not enough workers who work like slaves.
This is why we're better off with robots.
It's gotten to the point where I am willing to work like a slave. Still no job offers. The job market is like traffic in a metropolitan city.
@@cryorau willing to work like a slave ?!!!!😂
Ironically, it’s the government leeching off everyone keeping the economy poor. Why do we need a tax bureau?
Orwell said in his book 1984, that the three super states really do not practice different types of government. Despite the names, languages, the systems of government are all the same. They are not waging war against each other. They are waging war against their own populations. The people who control everything, the powerful do not wish to lose power. So by pretending to wage war against one another, they prop each other up like three sheaves of corn in the field. What has been described in so-called Communist China is exactly the same situation that poor and working class people find themselves in in the United States and in many nations of Europe. It’s even worse in the global south we’re wages are so low that the people are unofficially slaves.
You're delusional if you think Europe and the USA is anywhere near as bad as China. Go live in China see how you like it, and don't come back to the west.
Rubbish

The truth of this statement is augmented by the slave mentality reaction to it. These people would vote for a life made bearable by Soma from Brave New World.

The same thing has happened here in the USA. I remember in the 1990's, San Diego's Biotech industry crashed and burned with 10's of thousands of employees laid off. I remember seeing a respected double Ph.D. in molecular biology/chemistry working at Home Depot for $15 an hour.

When even the so-called "iron rice bowls" (civil service jobs) are increasingly becoming "clay rice bowls" because the state's coffers are depleted, you have a very serious problem, indeed.

I doubt it ,wishful thinking.
So.... what is your prediction then?
The longer and faster the growth period, and china has been through the longest uninterrupted growth period in history, the greater the recession will hit. Too many things basically depends in continued growth, once that growth disappears the house of cards become very unstable (this is an understatement). One big employment problem is the massive over-education. Education no longer provides any guarantee of a good life /income
I don't know if this is an economic law, but it seems to have happened to the United States with the 1929 Depression and to Japan in the 1990s.
@@SeattlePioneer China will thrive.
As an outsider I feel like the problem with China isn't its education but rather the culture in terms of expectations and lack of honesty from government to those responsible for bad construction of houses and subpar consumer goods.

If middle class parents are already ashamed that u are unemployed or single, what will happen if they find out u do OF? You might be completely disowned! Left with 0 inheritance! Plus, parents would rather support their unemployed adult children as long as they keep trying and not be an embarrassment
I guess their version of OF is marry or date guys older but much richer and get financially supported by them. There are probably ppl who do “sell” intimate activities, like being a sugar baby but that’s no different from dating because most guys will lose face if someone finds out that the person they sleep with is also sleeping with other people
At this point there will just be poor and rich
All those job markets require you to attend some form of education in order, but if youre a dictator from a farm, you dont need degrees you give decrees. Its not the same!

Wait, something doesn't add up here. 200 million people in flexible employment, which is 1 in 5 workers. China has barely a billion people, how can they have a billion workers?
China’s population is 1.4 billion people
@@Target-zo7fb and they really have a 1 billion people workforce? So one billion people of working age, excluding housewives/husbands, disabled and other common excludes? And 200 million of them basically do unregulated work "on call" like food delivery, streaming etc ? That's crazy!

The problem is not every country being force to become courier and Streamer, even India with larger population than china isn't this bad in living condition.
Here in the uk, over 100 people can apply for each job. Jobs do not pay enough to live on, so many people have to do more than one job. Our government say people must work. They are not seeing the real situation, or they do, but do not care. Xi was a farmer that became president. He can relate to today’s struggles…. even though he is the one that created these struggles.
The only thing that he cares about is staying in power
Actually that might be the reason that he cannot relate to this, because he had luck to become emperor. He could think that they can try harder
That’s what I always found somewhat odd and hilarious with countries with communist systems. Is the leaders. For instance Venezuela leader maduro, was originally a bus driver. Who basically inherited the country’s el presidente position because Chavez kicked the bucket. Madurro literally has no idea how to run a country but doesn’t have to worry about being replaced because the previous guy changed the their constitution to make him a dictator for life.
It’s almost the same case in theses commie countries where the leader is always some sort person who has no real experience to run a country and comes from the most regular jobs. The leader of Venezuela is like that Maduro was a bus driver. That inherited the job of el presidente. When chavez passed away. But no he changed the rules of term limits and how many times he could run. Now maduro is in charge and has no idea how to handle the country.
Funny, he is a princeling from the CCP.

Who knows what the reality in CCP China right now.
Gut says it's bad, but not as bad as these videos. BABA eeked out small positive revenue growth. Tencent had a decent quarter although domestic gaming was down.
Small businesses likely taking a harder hit.
ahh Finally people begin to understand the fallacy of meritocracy. Unless some unholy mechanism is created whereby all the children are taken from their families and pitted against each other, the reality is that the offspring of each family will have very different chances of success which are entirely based on their lineage.
GOD will make a way for everyone.
wow, so these toxic CDrama shorts are actually accurate?
How can a country have GDP growth when unemployment rate is so high?
Cuz there are also a lotta rich millionaires and billionaires and businesses that contribute to it. Not to mention the exports. Good economy doesn't actually mean that people are doing well, just shows enough capital with the select few. Same for India, both countries are among top 5 economies, but majority of the population don't get to see the benefits.
Because the GDP calculation is a “state secret” and Chinese data is very low fidelity. They drastically over report to meet goals set by the CCP. You can’t trust any data coming from China.
They cheat the numbers by inflating them with bogus construction projects.
Because Chinese companies are very good at finding ways to reduce headcount through automation and/or other means and still achieve revenue growth.
Just a PhD or degree is not diligant enough. If you pick a STEM or IT subject for your (under/post)-graduate degrees, and are reasonably intelligent, you will have work.
