China's Brutal Job Market: Most Men Turn Couriers, Women Become Streamers, Even PhDs Remain Jobless

  • etizens shared their frustrations. One person commented, "It's tough for women; at 28, unmarried and childless, finding a job is impossible, and I don't want to become a livestreamer, but I feel like I'm starving
    There's a popular joke online that encapsulates the situation well: men deliver food, and women livestream. After women finish streaming and get hungry, they order food, which the men deliver before tuning into the women's streams, creating a closed loop. Sadly, this is not far from the truth.

    Once again, when the government says that we need to increase the birth rate or import third-world workers because of labour shortages, there is no labour shortages. It just means that there are not enough workers who work like slaves.

    Orwell said in his book 1984, that the three super states really do not practice different types of government. Despite the names, languages, the systems of government are all the same. They are not waging war against each other. They are waging war against their own populations. The people who control everything, the powerful do not wish to lose power. So by pretending to wage war against one another, they prop each other up like three sheaves of corn in the field. What has been described in so-called Communist China is exactly the same situation that poor and working class people find themselves in in the United States and in many nations of Europe. It’s even worse in the global south we’re wages are so low that the people are unofficially slaves.

      If middle class parents are already ashamed that u are unemployed or single, what will happen if they find out u do OF? You might be completely disowned! Left with 0 inheritance! Plus, parents would rather support their unemployed adult children as long as they keep trying and not be an embarrassment
      I guess their version of OF is marry or date guys older but much richer and get financially supported by them. There are probably ppl who do “sell” intimate activities, like being a sugar baby but that’s no different from dating because most guys will lose face if someone finds out that the person they sleep with is also sleeping with other people

    I must say that on this one, the job market is very tight EVERYWHERE in the world.... Right now, Wellington NZ, is facing the same situation, there have been so many public employees layoffs, tightening up the market. I'm Head of Hiring at a Supermarket, and I get applications from people with Masters and Ph.D. Degrees, with highly and extensive experience, applying for a Checkout Operator position. It's happening everywhere....

    Here in the uk, over 100 people can apply for each job. Jobs do not pay enough to live on, so many people have to do more than one job. Our government say people must work. They are not seeing the real situation, or they do, but do not care. With coming changes in the law for unemployment people, Britain will have more people, more families, living on the street, with nothing and starving.

      That’s what I always found somewhat odd and hilarious with countries with communist systems. Is the leaders. For instance Venezuela leader maduro, was originally a bus driver. Who basically inherited the country’s el presidente position because Chavez kicked the bucket. Madurro literally has no idea how to run a country but doesn’t have to worry about being replaced because the previous guy changed the their constitution to make him a dictator for life.

    • @mah7961
      @mah7961 25 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It’s almost the same case in theses commie countries where the leader is always some sort person who has no real experience to run a country and comes from the most regular jobs. The leader of Venezuela is like that Maduro was a bus driver. That inherited the job of el presidente. When chavez passed away. But no he changed the rules of term limits and how many times he could run. Now maduro is in charge and has no idea how to handle the country.
