@@stephenbates2568 normally it is a t40 torx bit, t30 would definetly strip it! Some kits come with a t35 that might work. If not i would suggest trying flat jawed vice grips to remove it.
Nooo I watched intently but then the bit you take latch off and say slide to right confuses me as I have a cable going into the latch wich I cannot get off arghhh

They may be threadlocked so you might need heat to loosen them

is the cable the wire connector? it unplugs by pushing in the two sides and pulling!
