Love that they did a museum. It’s a good thing they got all of them instead of a bunch of random people getting individual paintings. Now everybody can visit and the enjoyment of these paintings can be shared with everyone, not just a select few who could afford it in auction.
"Art should reach to the masses, Not in a rich person isolated island" I love how they opened a museum so that everyone can see the symbol of love of Ira and Ruth. It was such a wholesome movie ❤
I don't love art that much but I appreciate. I am a good athlete, a miler but only at a collegiate level. I have a wife of 36 years and counting and three lovely kids in their adult years. Your summary brought a tear in my heart. Thank you.
I never saw this movie, but read the book. I had to put down at times because of crying. You really need to read and see this story! I am looking forward to to seeing this movie.
This happened in my home town a couple of decades ago. This man inherited several paintings from his Father. His Father had served in the Army immediately after WWII. He had purchased several paintings for next to nothing. He took them home after his tour of duty & eventually hung them in the family home. The family decided to sell the pictures after his Father had passed. One of the pictures turned out to be an early Van Gogh. The family sold it for a seven figures. Before the sale was completed the Family temporarily loaned the painting to the local art museum for display purposes. After a period of time the painting was passed on to the new owners,
Actually, this premise is something that has actually happen a few times. I'm not discounting the love story, but I'm just confirming that the quirky nature of the story makes for a more dramatic film. In the version of the story that I've heard; a man is traveling in Spain, while on vacation he happens into a local church. There's a sign and signature book; the sign reads that if someone would offer a prayer for a gentleman who doesn't have any known relatives locally. The stranger prays for the departed man's soul but thinks nothing more about the encounter. Three months later, he's contacted by the Spanish Embassy, to inquire if he was in fact the man who prayed for the departed man? When the gentleman confirms his identity; he's informed that because he offered up a prayer for someone he didn't know, the gentleman was awarded the man's entire estate, totaling 1,000,000 euros. I took the meaning of the story to mean, offer prayers even when you never expect a favor in return.
I will watch the movie for two reason I Love Allen Alda and the movie really seems to touch me in a very profound way, I Look forward to watching it in its entirety
Good work.. you deserve more views and aubs.. but also a small suggestion.. please mention that the video will have spoilers right at the start.. wish you the best.
I have never watched this video before but to a certain degree, everything worked out OK but sometimes I like watching ANTIQUES ROAD SHOW, and you would be amazed that these antique historians know the full story of the artist, birth, history, inspiration to make a certain piece of art,but I remember years ago when two sisters died within a month of each other, so I went into there house, with my friend, who's sister bought there house and in the Attic,I saw some manakins, with 1910 types of hats for women and like a fool, didn't go get them, because if I did,the 1st thing I would have done was take them to the Auction house and sell them to the highest bidder, because items like that are very rare, and are collector items, which people can put in their own private museum and these items are insured to the maximum of their respective amounts and some item's are in safety deposit boxes in a bank vault like my sister did when my mother just died, last year, 2023 at 97,God let her rest in peace AMEN.
I noticed you keep referring to the old gentleman as grandpa. He is not her grandpa. This is alluded He to several times in this video and that’s not the case. He is old, but he was a stranger that they ran across after their date. Plus, Luke was at the art auction near the end of the movie after the old man dies and invites him.people to the art are only there by invitation. So Sophia is also there. But she did not know Luke was going to be there. Also, in this video you referred to Luke saying that he will not give a racing. He is not racing. He has bull riding. Two completely different activities/sports. Also, you needed to explain the importance of the painting of roof. The little boy that you referred to earlier that they tried to adopt grew up to become a professor. And he had painted the picture of Ruth. That’s why Luke purchased the roof painting he got the entire collection. My last critique of this review is you keep referring to Ruth as rude. I don’t know if it’s just the way you say Ruth, but it comes out sounding like rude. I think you hit the highlights of the movie quite well. You only forgot the one part about the little boy when he grew up and the roof painting. that I think you did a pretty excellent job on this. Thank you for posting. I actually just saw this movie the first time yesterday on Amazon. I have it there to buy or rent. Amazon Prime Video.
Can’t believe I never saw this movie till now. Like wtf. Great movie that makes you cry and smile. 2024 will be different because of this movie.
Beautiful story

We should all be so blessed to find a love like that.

Are you saying Rude? Her name is Ruth. 😂😂
Yep. The AI voice never fails .... to fail us. He's saying "Rude" over and over again, when he should be saying 'Ruth". hahahahahaha
@@Frankie2012channel - and racing when it's bull riding. That's why it's called The Longest Ride...
Don’t be Ruth, it’s just his accent.
Listening to the story was like, I lived nearby to see Ira and Ruth growing happy and old together. That was a touching and loving story. Thanks 😊

EXCELLENT COMMENTARY. VERY GOOD NARRATION.

That part around 6 minutes where the voiceover says “Ruth is attracted to a boy” was really wild lmao. Translation isn’t interpretation!
Wow, an awesome movie. Despite the broken narrative (translation), it was great recap. Thank you!
He looks so much like his father!!
that is really a good explanation!! loved it
Really enjoyed this film heart warming brilliant story ❤
I saw the movie some years ago I liked it, it's good to come across something beautiful like this.
This is a great film. Just found it. Seems like true chemistry between Scott and Britt!
They deserved to get it all for being loving and careing enough to remember and follow along with the old mans dream and love of rude.
Luke never gets to be world #1, after his final ride you catch a glimpse of the leader board, he's still #2
Brilliant. Thank you!
Love it..beautiful and touching story❤

So being #1 in the world at bull riding pays less than opening an art museum?
