Bass Fishing With a Floating Minnow! Beginner Fishing Lure (Rapala)

  • Today I am bass fishing with a floating minnow by Rapala. This is a good beginner fishing lure because it swims so shallow. Diving less than 2 feet deep, this lure can be twitched or retrieved in shallow water. This means it is a bank friendly fishing lure for bass. Today I manage to catch 3 largemouth bass on the floating minnow. My fishing rig is a light action spinning combo with 6 lb test mono. I catch bass on both sides of the lake and that means they are spreading out. If you have a Rapala Floating Minnow in your tackle box, maybe give it a try. Its good for bass fishing and beginner friendly. #bassfishing #fishing

Floating Rapala 1 of my all time favorite lures, add split shot n u have a lure for suspend bass, fish it on a Carolina rig n it's killer for trolling or deep water bassing! I've caught everything from sunfish to perch n crappie, to bass, trout , n walleye, n pickerel n Pike, n even saltwater species on a good old floating Rapala!

Same here. My favorite thing about this channel is how relatable it is.
He uses affordable equipment, simple baits, and fishes off of the bank.
It's not interesting to me to watch KVD use a $500 combo, on a $15,000 boat, using $5000 in electronics pull out bass after bass.
Those sponsor shirts look dumb as hell too

A floating black/silver Rapala. How classic!!! Every kid i grew up with had one in their meager tackle box. It was the 'go-to' lure when nothing else worked and bummed at the loss if it ever got stuck on a submerged log and the line broke. More than 1 buddy I know when in after their lure if this happened. You always bring the simple, classics back to life! Keep 'em coming!

I love that little floating Rapala! For bluegills in the shallows I take off the back treble hook and add a six inch leader of 4 or 6 pound test and tie on a fly that sinks. I catch some bass still on the Rapala and catch bluegill on the fly. Poppers work well too if the bluegills will feed on the surface.

I had my first "Bill Dance" moment the same day you made this video. The ground crumbled below my feet and I fell in the lake. After that I fell again because a bass came off the hook at shore but I held on to that bass! Finally I got my Live Target lure snagged and it was my first time using it. The lure had a great day. It caught 3 bass and none under 2.5 LBs. I was so mad I lost it. I went back the next day and found 2 very large sharks teeth in perfect condition. This is a fresh water lake but it's in South FL so I'm guessing FL was under the ocean in recent history if I'm finding sharks teeth that far in land. I found 7 sharks teeth in the two days I went fishing at that lake and I wasn't there looking for teeth. I was looking for fish!
