I dropped a grand on an 87FR reissue and I barely touch it. It just isn't comfortable and is two pounds heavier than this without the scoops I so desperately crave!

I've got both and they are very different guitars. I've also modded both, with the white '87 getting a switch and jack because they sucked bigtime. The black one has a good switch and jack already but a crappy nut. The '87 comes with generic graphtech type nut that needed a reset and some string slot touchups. Other than dual humbuckers from SD and bodyshape they're polar opposites.

It needs a Graphtech stringtree and ernie ball slinkys. I hated the way it sounded before I modded mine. After dropping DiMarzio pots, an orange drop cap, and treble bleed curcuit into it, its grown on me alot over the last few weeks. Now I pick it up with some hopes instead of hates.
