I Love Kalbarri awesome fishing spot, in my 20s I remember that very same spot and 2 locals using huge garfish on 10/0 gangs and already had two ten ponders in a 20lt bucket I was gobsmacked as their tails hang over the bucket lip, the beaches also have huge mulloway.
Great stuff gents 👍I'm from south africa we call it shad (elf) try using metal spoons works great for that species check out the Iron candy range as well as falcon spoons 👍
Locals love tourists, camera crews show non locals areas that people wouldn’t see let alone visit. Great show, bring in the tourists dollar watch the local businesses love you back.
Terry Ishless people live in rural areas to have quiet, seclusion, nature, adventure, secret places/spots they can escape to and enjoy with there families and pass the the knowledge and ways of life down to future generations, a slower pace/less populated way of life. Not everything is about capital gain and money! if you want that go live in the metropolitan areas. If you want to advertise and exploit fruitful but fragile areas/species you will have fish numbers depleted, litter and crowds just like the cities. That capitalistic mindset is what ruins “the good spots” they’re only good because only a small community knows about them. If you want Kalbarri’s fishing to by like Perth’s keep making shows there and it soon will be.
@Deezy That’s the my idea to flood your serenity with crowds and to drain your very untapped resources instead of my local area. PS: you couldn’t get any slower than a western australian, hence the WaitAwhile piss take tag each western australian knows each other by
Very cool. Recall getting one on a trip but not this big, many years ago and it had insanely sharp teeth. Ate 1/2 right away and it was tasty then just 3 days later the other half despite well chilled tasted much different. It seems the meat does not last real long on these type fish

Go get them, the locals love tourists
I got to get to Kalbarri INSANE TAILOR ACTION
Ganged hooks. Illegal in Victoria if I am not mistaken. 👍
I catch tailor all the time in estuaries in calm water
Yeah but 99% of those are yearlings that we use whole as bait for these
What do you call that hook setup? 3 in a row?
Gang hook
