I wish more people in the Americas watched Akira Kurosawa, it's a shame to see how many miss his masterpieces.

Great presentation. I have only seen Ran, Redbeard, & Seven Samurai so far. All are excellent. Definitely will further explore the Kurosawa library. I would rate Seven Samurai as my number one movie ever. I've seen a lot of movies in my six plus decades of Earth inhabitation.

OK I’mma just drop it right at the start: I have NEVER yet as of now seen a Kurosawa film. Not ONE. I’ve wanted to but always been overwhelmed by the huge universe of it all, but I love foreign film and Noh Theater. I think your video has finally given me a great way to enter the universe! I soaked up all your info and passion for these (did skip the spoilers!) so THANK YOU!! 😃😃

Not just a breathless collection of critical masterpieces (which this is), but this is also the only collection of '10 best' films I've ever seen that ALL rate over 8 on IMDB. That means they're loved by viewers as well (which not all critically acclaimed films are).
It seems inconceivable that Akira had such trouble financing his movies after all his incredible works, but (as the lack of Hollywood recognition suggests) he was just too far ahead of his time.
We are indeed blessed that artists like Kurosawa exist -- though their personal lives may be fraught with tribulation, their creations give testimony to their dedicated vision and artistry.
