I have a Versys 650, too, and it’s a great, comfortable ride. Riding position is excellent and yes-perfectly blocks the wind. Seat is nice n’ comfy. Power is linear and it does build nicely and get a little exciting. Tops out with me on it (200 lbs) at about 125+. It is a sport tourer, though; definitely not a dual sport. I got some Scorpion 2’s on it and that turned riding on gravel from a “riding on marbles” experience to “doable,” but heed this advice: you can carefully (not entirely enjoyably) ride fire roads, but do not take this bike off road. That will be a disaster if you do.
I have just purchased a 2018 model , for the mountains of Colorado , it is the perfect bike .
Both the 650 and the 1000 are extremely sharp bikes! Got to get one!

It’s a very underestimated bike. Especially as a beginner bike.
Beginners should not use this....150cc or 250cc at the most.
@@phnx4life I'm about to get mine shipped because I don't know how to ride but once I learn I don't have to upgrade it
