    Brilliant. I've was searching guitar covers of the song and saw there was bass covers. I watched a few, including one from a person who played with Abbat, and was like yeahhhh, ok 😐
    But yours? Wow. 5 string, playing synched better with the overall song and........KLANK!! 🤯 Brillaint. Just brilliant.

    This is why I wanna play bass, it's super easy!

    • @restojon1
      @restojon1 ปีที่แล้ว

      Whilst this song may be "easy", playing bass well, is certainly not "easy". Good bass playing is an artform all of it's own, go and check out a player called "Insane Death Machine" and his cover of Warden Domain by Neurogenic.

      @@restojon1 Nah, music should be fun, not a sport. That's why I quit the guitar. Too technical. I just wanna rock, like Lemmy.

      Wasn't really sure how to reply to this one. While it is true this song is on the easy side of things, it is still not trivial to play something like this with consistent clanky attack using fingers and have it be tight. As it happens there are a couple minor things I could have punched in to clean up, but I like the performance you hear to be exactly what you see... just jamming along to a song in one take!

    Awesome cover! Very very cool! Could you please tell, you layed the music ( I mean the song) after you shot the video? Because the sound is awesome, what kind of gear did you use?

    • @StephenBecker
      @StephenBecker  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I just layered my bass track on top of the album recording in a DAW, put the video in another track in the DAW (possibly not widely known, but most DAWs support video), and nudged the video until it was in sync with my fingers.
      Gear-wise, I'm using a Tech 21 Steve Harris preamp in parallel with a Bass Driver DI V2 on my pedalboard....however the bass tone you hear in the video is actually a NAM profile of my board rather than the actual thing. See link in the description....you can download and try it.

    are these the EMG Hz? same ones they put on the schecter elite?

    • @StephenBecker
      @StephenBecker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, these are EMG 40TW. They're active ceramic steel humbuckers.
      Note however they can be split with a push-pull to be the same as the 40 JCS jazz pickups (I never use this mode because it sounds bad IMO....I kind of hate jazz pickups).

    How do u get that tone

    • @StephenBecker
      @StephenBecker  ปีที่แล้ว

      Stainless steel strings with low action to maximize fret clank, hard attack, and sent through a couple of Tech 21 preamps in parallel (SH-1 and BDDI).

      @@StephenBecker that tone is analog? Ur not running a DAW plug-in or something? Cause damn it’s clanky

    • @StephenBecker
      @StephenBecker  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@makidiaz3894 Yes and no. For this specific video I'm running a Neural Amp Modeler (NAM) profile, so it is indeed a plug-in in my DAW.
      *However*, the profile I'm running is one I myself made of my own pedalboard. As I mentioned above, there are two preamps on my board...the Steve Harris SH-1, and the classic Sansamp bass driver DI. These pedals are all analog, including analog cab/speaker sim. I'd say the profile sounds about 97-99% of the way to the actual physical pedalboard, so it is pretty damn good!
      If you want this tone, you can get it too! I put the NAM profile on Tonehunt, see link in the video description. Just note that there is an element of the setup of my bass and how I attack the strings that also makes it sound the way it does, and the model won't capture that.
