I removed the aluminum hand rail and top box mount from mine. It weighs 8 pounds. I reinserted the Allen headed bolts into the holes for use a bungee cord attachment points. No more hitting my knee on it getting on or off.
@@TomShorrock like to see someone do it. I think the bike probably has poor wind resistance. And with tubed tyres how safe would 135mph realistically be.
It wouldn't be safe or wise to do that speed. But that doesn't mean the bike won't do it. You don't buy bikes like this for speed. It's a tourer. Light off road duties.

A deeply flawed test I'm afraid, with just too many mistakes and misunderstandings to list. I guess that's inevitable when a car mob test a motorcycle, but it's definitely a case of 'could have done better'. You could at least have got the facts right. The tester comes across as pleasant enough, but really had little idea of what's what on a bike. Not the first clue of why a 21" front wheel is fitted, praised the suspension when we all know it is a cost compromise, the biggest drawback of the model, and the key area that many owners will want to address. The lack of adequate hydraulic damping obvious as the tester 'worked' the suspension up and down. And yes, the inner fork legs are 43mm. As for praising the 'bright headlight'? You can't be serious. After 5,500 kms on my new Transalp, I am a little in shock at how poor the headlight is. So much less night vision compared to my 1995 Cagiva Elefant 750, it's just abysmal. Possibly motivated towards selling the optional spotlights, but a very telling lack of understanding about motorcycles reflected in this 'test'. Many references to "this is the base model", when there is only one model. That model is slightly different in the US, with different tuning and exhaust baffle, but there is no other model; only the over-priced options for the only model on offer (at this stage). Whereas the bikes are remarkably cheap, the options are seriously overpriced, which might have warranted a mention in the test. Yes, it is a good basic motorcycle, within those shortcomings mentioned (and despite the flawed rider modes) but items like the suspension and the headlight are hardly praiseworthy. Probably the two features of the model which let it down the most. Most experienced motorcyclists will recognise instantly that this 'test' is just bollocks, and make it rather laughable. Perhaps you should stick to the cars; bikes and cars really are separate worlds. Different technology and dynamics, different enthusiasts, different experiences. As a rider of over 60 years experience, and the owner of the model tested, this test just made me shake my head in despair. Baseless praise, misinformation, and no idea.
It’s very difficult to form an opinion on a bike when you only have it for a week, this was just a first look, so there is no way we can pick up on the flaws you mention after riding one 5000kms. When we only managed 100 miles or so. We appreciate your feedback and will look to improve however since you seem to have the knowledge maybe you should audition to take over on the bike reviews?
If pointing out the raft of complete errors in this test constitutes a "rude blowhard", you might be a little delicate to be on here! The suspension and headlight are a couple of the real shortcomings of this model, and don't need 5,000 kms to notice, on what has set out to be a 'test'. These were obvious in a very short mileage. If you set yourself up as a 'tester', you should be open to criticism of what is an incomplete and seriously flawed report. The bike has many virtues, as well as several shortcomings. The problem to me was that you really didn't seem able to spot which were which.
You must be the gatekeeper who decides who is allowed to comment on TH-cam videos! Yes, you are definitely not a guru (me neither). Look, this test made statements which were simply untrue, and I 'called them out', as I am entitled to do. If you were to check, you would find my comments on these Transalp videos have been 100% positive, apart from this one. I simply pointed out that so much of this video was false, and misleading. Not helpful information for people who have yet to ride the bike, or may be considering buying it. A more balanced review is much more helpful, and I saw fit to add some balance. Not sure why you need to be so nasty in your responses, when I was simply being honest. Of course this Comment Service is available so viewers can express their opinions! Carry on...
Great Video, Looking good Tom ,Have you lost weight or are you Using a Stunt Double A.K.A the Slug 😜
😂😂
I’ve put it on if anything 😂😂😂
I’d struggle to get my leg over that…insert joke here.
Hahaha! It’s not automatic so it’s pointless you trying 😉

Let us know what bikes you want to see next 💪🏻
I'm just wondering if there are any bikes left that are not parallel twins ?
The Fantic Caballero 700 2024! Thank you!

Does sound good
Did he say 41mm forks they must be 43mm surely.
Yes 43 mm
you could have picked a better back drop location for the presentation of the pretty bike.
A better back drop than the peak district
Top speed of 135mph i find that hard to believe
Nearly 100bhp and 209kg?
Seems about right for 130 mph.
Why?
It certainly is, however I can not confirm how it was proven

For the price can I complain? Yes, there is no cruise control.
It certainly is a shame there's no cruise control but if you can forgive that, would you buy it?
The possibility strongly exists.
