Have you seen the new illuminated XTR3’s? I heard they switched from USA/Japan manufacturing to Philippines which is why the illuminated models are cheaper than the non-illuminated. Any comparison of glass quality between them?
This seems like a dumb question to me..but is the reticle less usable at minimum power in the 3-18 scope vs the 5-30? I’m assuming the reticle are generally .2 mil or so thick which would make it nearly invisible at 3 power I’d think
Isn’t having the vertical reticle line canted to the bore a problem down range? The scope internals don’t run dead parallel to the bore, it’s generally tilted down at the front, even more so once dialled in for distance. The further you shoot the further your windage is out
@@ImpactDynamics interesting thanks, would that be the “zero offset” in applied ballistics app? Or is it something you manually need to work out and adjust for?
Question . What makes it better if any ? To the vortex pst gen 2 5x25 ? Or is the vortex better then this Burris ? Looking to pair it with a Christensen MPR 308. And stuck in between this two
No issues on feeding at all. The Whiskey has a far option for adjustment on the magazine so just ensured that lined up well when I set it up and it has been good ever since.
Not sponsored, I pay for my scopes. This will depend on what product and what we are comparing it to. I have found the Burris range generally to be competitive to their equivalent in the price range. I run an optics store, and have my choice of scopes to use, and am very happy with the Burris XTR III, and about to add an XTR PRO into the mix.
Who do you hear that from? Are you referring to the XTR3 line or just Burris in general? I’ve always heard the XTR3 line specifically has great glass compared to its price point.
@@sethrich5998 I believe it was the RT 5-25. Granted that is a sub $1000 optic so some CA is likely to be there. I have no issue with Burris, as is the case with most optics...I have heard some good and some bad things about them. I know a lot of PRS shooters use Burris so they must perform well.
@@KevinWood44 Yeah I got ya. That makes sense. Honestly haven’t heard much either way for most Burris optics. Except the XTR3 appears to have a vary favorable reputation. Don’t have one myself so can’t say firsthand though.

Thank goodness for that 1000 plus dollar scope to run on that .22LR. The recoil is just brutal!

Very good information

Not if you offset for it in your data.

Zero offset is correct

Did you have feeding problem with the bergara b14r magazine on your krg whiskey chassis?
No issues on feeding at all. The Whiskey has a far option for adjustment on the magazine so just ensured that lined up well when I set it up and it has been good ever since.
What Scope rings/mount are you running?
Sorry if you are sponsored by Burris, but I hear the glass is sub par....thoughts?

Rusty you look thinner in person
I like your videos, but like a lot of people. A black background and a black scope, its hard to see.
Good feedback Jeff, thank you.
