    • @asantesamuel13

      5.0 is basically one step below college. Like an instructor who played college but is just a little slower would be a 5.0 or 5.5. These guys are solid 4.5s but 5.0 would be a little more pace and better movement overall, and more variety of shot, and less random unforced errors. If they cleaned up their movement and technique and used more variety they’d be 5.0s for sure.

    Great footwork by the guy in the black shorts. This is what I like to see more of from recreational players. Too many can barely move their legs and watching their tennis is a terrible eyesore but you sir are a credit to the sport.

    I watched vid. Advice for the man in shorts:1- attack short balls, approach deep and low, follow to net, don't back up. You have good deep ground strokes, and you are rewarded with a short ball, so attack and put opponent under pressure. End the point. Do not back up and start the groundies over again. Develop your approach shots, volleys and overheads. 2- Serve to the weakness. You have good serve. The opponent did not have a BH.

    I like how you showed your reaction to his 'hooking' call. Good use of video editing to set him up as the villain of the match. :) That aside, his FH was strong & he ran around it often. Have you thought about targeting his BH more? He often slices it back. If your volley skills are good, I'd hit him bh's all day and come in to volley on the deeper ones expecting a slice from him. When you had a neutral ball, I was hoping you'd hit it to his weaker side, but noticed you often hit back to his strength (FH). Somethngn to consider for next time perhaps. Just my .02. Nice quality vid (both resolution and editing).

    • @RobertCGee
      @RobertCGee  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know after watching the points I hit way too many back to his forehand. You're right about the strategy and that's how I plan to play him next time.

    • @Funkytrip73

    Pink t-shirt guy really needs to improve his backhand. You're both good players. Either choose a 2 or 1 handed backhand, and really work on how to drive, topspin or slice it (easy for me to say sat in front of my comp with beer in hand!). I've been working on my 1 handed backhand for years. It takes time, but it's well worth it

    Superior tennis. I know it is difficult, but you must open up the player in the pink shirt by going wide to forehand, wide to backhand, wide to backhand to beat him. He really does a nice job of hiding his backhand by running around it to hit that inside out forehand.

    The problem both players have is positioning on court.When they play crosscourt shot they both stay too close to the middle of the court and giving much space for other opponent to exploit that space plus they creat tough ball for themselfe for balls that are not far away from them.If they can improve positioning on court they would save much more energy plus they would be able to play more simpler tennis with much more effect.

    Advice for man in long pants: 1- develop your BH, slice and topspin. 2- do not hit short balls, hit deep 2 feet from the lines. 3- if your opponent has no volleys or overhead, slice short on purpose, or hit drop shot, bring him in, then pass or lob. 4- if you get short ball- see below

    Anyone that can call a ball that's at least 6 inches in (1:35 mark) OUT is definitely going to be trouble to have a match with.
    I mean that one isn't even close enough to be debatable.
    At this age, You're usually playing a player who feels like he's an underdog and needs that edge being dishonest.
    If it does happen to be an honest mistake and you made a bad call you should admit to it and either offer to replay the point or give your opponent the point.
    Unfortunately these days teenage kids who have potential are taught by coaches to be dishonest and cheat coming up now when playing in matches where they make their own calls.
