I am 12 year old and been playing for 1 and a half years ive been watching your videos for motivation and being self taught and pretty secent now at playing
Your tutorials are so beautifully explained that at my age of 51 I have inspired and started learning piano, man you are genius, wish I could play like you, Kudos...!
Merci, a very timely video. I decided to get serious with my piano agenda, and this week I planned out the next 12 days of practice. One key a day. I start out with modes, but do them in the order: Lydian, Ionian, Mixolidian, Dorian, Aeolian, (Harmonic and Melodic), Phrygian and Lochrian. Then I'm doing arpeggios since I've tended to ignore them. I'm practicing the Rule of the Octave which I do on the Tonic, the third and fifth in the key of the day, but I also do one in the Circle of Fifths. I do the circle of fifths progression in the key of the day. I finish with sightreading. You are the inspiration for me to buy a piano last year at 65 yoa, and I'm forever grateful to you, Jason. Again, merci.
Level 5 is so fun to play, but still challenging. Before this video came out, I was already practicing this movement by playing Moonlight sonata 3rd mvt's finale because of how gorgeous and dramatic it sounds
Wow, this will shut me up for a goodly while! Am still getting to grips with the finger independence exercise (tiny bit of improvement) & the 3 strikes per note exercise (no improvement yet)! This seems meaty. I love arpeggios (ever since The Aristocats) ❤
So many years of paid for private piano lessons spent learning one piece at a time. No theory at all. Finally….your lessons are filling in those blanks. Thank you maestro.
We that are willing to learn are not Left alone through your lesson. If you can be helping beginners most of beginners will be interested in your channel. Thanks from Nigeria, I enjoy it.
Ah, I've been wanting to work on my arpeggios for a while now. Level 4 and 5 will help me out for sure. I'm excited to try the finger prep tip as well. Thank you!
Great video. Learning is high on the level. Definitely gives me new approaches to improving my fingering. Sorry, I’m a beginner. 60 years I’ve tortured trying to play, never understanding “circle of 5s” open my eyes, now i have so many scales.. doing scales never left Cmaj. Taking it to the next level, the fingering changes. Omg. Doing multiple octaves…absolutely, but it all comes to your hands on the piano linking to something between the ears. I’ve seen several of your videos, and felt inspired to hit the piano, but now i have something new to try. The next step is to watch your video again to get the fingering, documented… so i can refer while at the piano. Ie quick study guide lol. Through repetition I’ll get it. Thanks. do more vids lol.
Your videos are so full of information I tend to watch them several times. I started playing your five note warmup from the beginning. I'm now playing it in thirds and sixths, like you did with the arpeggios. And I'm trying to really listen to which notes play together, since this is important for first species counterpoint.
Your explanations and pacing are really exceptional. Easy for me, a level 2 player, to follow. Very clear demonstrations. Most instructors go too fast. You are trying to develop us as competent players, with solid skills as a base. 😊
For extra challenge, I like lifting my fingers as little as possible. It's to help sustain notes without the pedal. And actually, you can hear an obvious difference with it on low-polyphony keyboards. The notes on my PSR-90 cut out very quick if the pedal is doing the heavy lifting.
Thankfully subbed to your channel a good while ago, this was the video I was waiting. Could have been my bad googling for two octave arpeggios and fingering for it, as I couldn't really find anything even close to this clear. Or already forgot that I found something. Even I guess I knew how to transfer to second octave, I always doubted myself, but no more doubts. And this really is for right hand, left hand for some reason especially when coming from low to high notes has been always clear. Or I just learnt them by accident when banging my head against the wall when learning 'To Zanarkand' which is heavy on left hand add9 chord arpeggios. Thanks Jazer
Thanks a lot. I follow most of your suggestions, as I am a beginner. I agree, please tell us how to overcome body tension. Also how to play quick consecutive notes.
Hi hello i am very proud of you because i see thay you are making new videos regulary and that is what i like because i am hungry for new stuff keep doing the good job and GodBless you and your family forever
I just found your channel and am really amazed at your content and skill level. Is the content on your TH-cam channel what you use in your curriculum teaching piano in personal lessons? Thank you for all your help and encouragement.
Hi jazer sir , you are an awesome teacher . I need an advice , I had an online class since 1 year but I left that class since 5 to 6 months bcoz the way of teaching was way too slow . As I have left that class my practise had been reduced to near 0 and I am confused where to start as I am not getting time sometimes along with that I have to do my academics (in school RN ) so pls tell me how should I restart my practise.pls reply
There's a lot of wrist rotation going at slow speeds when you first demo level 2, but that's probably necessary for the demo, eh? The question is how do you deal with the problem of mixing lego and non-legato notes? That is, you can still be playing D when you start to play F#. That's legato. The same thing occurs going from F# to A. But when you go from A to D above, you have to move your hand, which means you release the A relatively early compared to the earlier notes. That's non-legato. Any thoughts? (BTW, this comment was really hard to type after studying your video. I think my mind had switched my hands over to "piano playing mode". Going back to "typing mode" was weird.)
I think these coordination exercises should be a required course in elementary schools every where, just for the brain work at an early age. I’m right handed, after doing these exercises I realize my left arm and hand has pretty much been a useless appendage my whole life. The worst part about it is people offered to teach me these things. They should have forced me to do it.

I am learning on my own and wasn't really sure how to practice arpeggios. This really helped. Thanks.
That was great and helpful to teach and illustrate about prepare and then only when you prepare play the notes
I will never get enough of this so informative lesson. That was very well thought of. Thank you so much.
Yay, I requested arpeggios in his last video and he really read my comment. Thank you so much, I've been waiting for this.
Yes, this was in response to your request. (And others too in the past videos). 🤓

Really good explanation on how to conceptualize a chord. Thanks.

super simple and clear
i'm having trouble with tucking the thumb, whenever I move to the next octave without pedal, it just feels abrupt
Great explanation thank you.

What are the best songs /classical songsto practice arpeggios?
Nice video. Thanks, Jazer 🙂
Dude!. I feel like I died and went to heaven, and I'm not even halfway through the video. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

A personal composition of mine.
@@jazerleepianodo you have a video or a link where I can listen to the whole piece?
I never now how to choose my fingering when trying a new piece and waste so much time figuring it out. Sorry a bit off topic.
So are arpeggios and chords the same thing?
A chord is where you play all the notes at the same time. For an arpeggio, you break up the chord and play the notes separately.
@@hacerclic1020 thank you
The fact that I was just struggling with arpeggios in my piece for my grade 6 exam...
Would you please show little bit slowly?...ie notes and fingering...

I think i need to learn how to spell arpegergio first
