Thread Cutting in Lathe - Norton Geartrain Explained

This 3D animation in SolidWorks shows how thread cutting is done in a lathe, and how the mechanism inside the headstock take part to make it possible. The tumbler mechanism and Norton mechanism has been expalined in detail. Also, how the pitch of the job or workpiece being machined is related to lead screw speed and spindle speed, and the calculations for the same have been shown.
