Beautiful. I notice that the horse is very well groomed; I think a lot was done to establish trust before this moment. Love the "colt starting" saddle - a light english saddle with a grab bar. Seems like a western saddle "night latch" (loop of braided rawhide) would be safer than a metal bar for both the horse and rider in case the horse rears and goes over backwards.
I have so much respect for this guy. He is so gentle with this horse. He really knows what he's doing. And knows natural horsemanship, and horse body language. He never shipped her, hit her, or scared her on purpose.
My biggest inspiration in the world of horses. I've been called crazy and an ''unexperienced rider'', but the connection I had with the horses from the ground was something unique. A feeling that I never felt when I followed ''the rules''. Thank you Monty Roberts, for learning me how to learn their language!
Your welcome Mr. Roberts I saw you on TV some years back and i was so impressed with your ability to connect with these majestic creatures that have their own language llike many other animals , your just so calm and non threatening in anyway what a learned gift from the cruelty you've seen in your early life experiences with what you saw your father do , it shows that no matter our early life negative examples we don't have to copy them if with true interest and desire we can introduce animals to kind and patient interactions !!! Thank you so much for taking on a seriously compassionate manner of approaching the issue of having horses learn to comply willingly to us through kindness and communication , and all the Best from Lynne in Southern Ontario Canada .
The way he was so gentle with the horse and understanding that it was uncomfortable for her is amazing. He used a calm tone instead of making the horse nervous. He calmed her just using a gentle tone and hand. He is truly AMAZING!😊
My Dad was a firm believer in Monty Roberts and after he received his first horse, a foal of out my BLM mustang Rena (foal was a surprise that only Rena and I knew about but no one believed us (:...), Dad bought every book and video he could find and after starting a number of others horses using MR methods Dad considered himself a "horse whisperer" and everyone would call him when they had a young horse, a green horse, an untrainable horse, a problem horse. Up until a few weeks before Dad passed away he was still singing the praises of MR. Dads horse Cheyenne? Well he gave her to the people who Dad gave all of her babies too. Cheyennes momma Rena, my mare? She's enjoying just being horse although she did experience a major loss three days ago. Her best friend, my mare Daelite, was laid down after having owned me for two weeks shy of 23 years. Rena is 21 now, and she's owned me 19 years. UPDATE: My Rena I had to lay down in 2017 due to severe allergies. Seven grasses in NY she was allergic to five along with barn dust and cockroaches😵🤧😟😳🥺😭 (aren't we all?). I tried everything for her even down to allergy shots. The decision to lay her down only became absolutely necessary when in the Spring of 2017, with snow still in the ground, and temperatures were close to 70 and she started heaving so bad it hurt me to watch her. Rena was my joy but if I were to ever adopt a mustang again I would make sure the horse came from a state that was similar to NYS for grasses because she was born in a desert state, Elko Valley Nevada, she never had a chance at being a normal horse as much as I tried and wanted her to be a happy, healthy, "normal" horse. I always learn from my owners, my Daelite taught me how to bring a horse back from the brink of starvation and Rena taught me how to observe for any breathing issues, founder and unusual feeding requirements especially when it comes to feeding a horse with allergies.
Sorry for your loss. Those who don't know horses don't get that the great bonds that can be formed through love and understanding are so tight that to lose one partner - horse or human - can be devastating to both sides. Those horses lucky enough to have been "owners" of gentle, understanding humans can grieve too. And they can grieve when they lose their long-term best horse buddies. I hope that the parting wasn't too hard on either of you. Bless you for your obvious love for our dearest animal partners. The one thing I choose above all when it comes to horses or dogs - and the occasional cat - is the unconditional love they give us (cat's have servants, not owners ;-) I love cats too btw!). They can teach many a human how to love. I hope your other friend is still with you, given the time that's passed since your post.
Since the novel : "The horse whisperer", I was completely bewitched by monty roberts and his join up. When I ride and i can do this jion up, I'm so happy, I could be cry ! Thank you so much
I like Monty's method the best. He isn't flashy and showy about his skills and abilities, he gets right to the point without wasting time and breath. He is gentle and accomplishes in a matter of minutes what takes others to do in several days. Other trainers methods have the concepts to varying degrees but in pieces and though they do succeed over time, Monty just tackles whatever problem head on and resolves straight away. I like Monty's no nonsense, no frills approach. After watching 0ther trainers work, I still like Monty's method the best. Monty is a true horse whisperer and I appreciate watching him work.
I absolutely love him. The way I have seen other people train horses are disgusting, like Clinton Anderson. Most people order, tell and force the horse to obey and tie them down. This man goes bitless, let’s the horse take its time and so much more. He has so much patience with that horse. It’s outstanding. I’m ligit speechless! Keep up the good work mate Edit: I just saw that he didn’t even use a lunging whip to make the horse as comfortable as possible, he also didn’t use a big saddle pad, putting lots of weight on the horse. He also didn’t put any leg wraps on, he lets the horse feel comfortable as. And when it came to mounting, he didn’t rush it. He took his time on it. I’m literally so surprised, and I came across you just in my recommendations. You have such a special talent with horses. And you didn’t do too much riding on the mare the first time mounted. You earn their respect and trust. The difference between an abused way of training and yours is so much. You literally inspire me so much. I can’t stop watching your vids. You have earned my respect!
Beautiful subtleties are the key. Love this. Screw the old ways! No "breaking." No, Monty... people can be demons when it comes to treating animals well. You're too kind to us.

Brittany Overy I read "I just would love to ride him"😂😂
I really hope Brittany and Alex get together! ❤
I had the pleasure to watch Monty work for my birthday and it was the best. Thoroughly enjoyed watching him work.
This man is a genius my god! He is absolutely incredible!
Heartland brought me here. Well I'll be...Amy did it just like this guy. I love it.
This man has such talent and gentle strength, it is a beautiful gift! God bless this man!
It is stunning this man at work. He works in complete harmony with the horses.
@Hello Michael Millett, Nice meeting you, How are you doing?

@@michaelmillett8724 Hello
@@lydiaanderson3312 One day we will catch up with each other. Stay safe Lydia.
I'm lost of words... Just Magnificent!!!
Beautiful..... So harmonious, and no fear or stress.
And such a soothing voice too. You could soothe humans with that voice..Calm but strong. Lovely.
I love how most people actually see what he's doing and not just hate.
It’s almost magical the way he gently gets her used to being saddled and having a person on her. It just goes to show how far love, gentleness, kindness and patience can go with animals.
Thank you Beverly. The handle is made of stitched leather, nothing metal.
@@MontyChannel Thanks for the clarification, and apologies for the mis-statement. At 3:33, it looked rectangular, but now I see its flexibility.
@@beverlywilcox4349 No worries, always good to see people concerned for the safety of the horse
I have so much respect for this guy. He is so gentle with this horse. He really knows what he's doing. And knows natural horsemanship, and horse body language. He never shipped her, hit her, or scared her on purpose.
3:04 “Corona! What’s the deal!” My man forecasted the pandemic 7 years before it happened. Great content!
My biggest inspiration in the world of horses. I've been called crazy and an ''unexperienced rider'', but the connection I had with the horses from the ground was something unique. A feeling that I never felt when I followed ''the rules''. Thank you Monty Roberts, for learning me how to learn their language!
Wow
I used this method on my Arab/Hannoverian mix and I have never rode a better horse! I love Monty!

Happy to have monty teaching or riding horses. It make me have faith in humanity still.
I love his training methods, i also love how he talks to the horse while tacking her up xD
That horse is a beauty
Andria M. Simpson-Russell the fact that only you and the mare knew made me laugh, “see! We told you there was a mini me!”
@Hello Andria M, Nice meeting you, How are you doing?
One of the best nights of my life watching this genius live.
I came to one of your demonstrations during April in Liverpool, best thing I’ve ever watched.
This has got to be one of the greatest horsemen out there.
Well her name didn’t age well did it 🤣
Pastel Aesthetic IKR😂😂😂😂
I just realized when i read your comment and a slow grin came on my face 😂
Since the novel : "The horse whisperer", I was completely bewitched by monty roberts and his join up. When I ride and i can do this jion up, I'm so happy, I could be cry ! Thank you so much
Incredible video. This man is clearly
A master horseman
I like Monty's method the best. He isn't flashy and showy about his skills and abilities, he gets right to the point without wasting time and breath. He is gentle and accomplishes in a matter of minutes what takes others to do in several days. Other trainers methods have the concepts to varying degrees but in pieces and though they do succeed over time, Monty just tackles whatever problem head on and resolves straight away. I like Monty's no nonsense, no frills approach. After watching 0ther trainers work, I still like Monty's method the best. Monty is a true horse whisperer and I appreciate watching him work.
I feel he's like Bob Ross but with horses
Arrrmyyyy💜
I see yoongi
What a perfect comparison, I felt this
What a passion that man has. This is just wonderful to witness the power of love and care.
Keep up the good work mate
Edit: I just saw that he didn’t even use a lunging whip to make the horse as comfortable as possible, he also didn’t use a big saddle pad, putting lots of weight on the horse.
I've watched Monty Roberts for at least 18 years. Now all I need I s the horse.
It's awesome watching a professional at work, it the way my dad showed me as a kid to train horses and pony's, top guy.
his voice is so soothing but bright. it is magic to watch.
Beautiful subtleties are the key. Love this. Screw the old ways! No "breaking." No, Monty... people can be demons when it comes to treating animals well. You're too kind to us.
I'm so happy. I saw 30 mins in the title, and I got worried since usually it's people who break the poor horses spirit,
But this is totally not the case. I'm so glad. His method and energy is wonderful
Monty...you are absolutely brilliant...thank you for everything you’ve accomplished in helping us better understand these amazing creatures. Mad respect from Virginia 🏆🐴❤️✌️
Truly speechless. Great work, Monty.
This was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. I'm a small person, seeing that Mare accept all of that in one session was astonishing and makes me feel better about some day owning my own horse. I want to become a dog and horse behaviouralist & trainer, but being a small person I'm always overlooked & dismissed. Any words of wise?
This guy is great and i have seen his gentle whisper with them and its true , they give trust in their own time and unique way that is clear if you read the signs !!! Ty so much for understanding their own word and body language , its truly amazing !!!
oh, the original Horse Whisperer...i read that book years ago. Very cool.
He didn't write The Horse Whisperer. He wrote The Man Who Listens to Horses.
Thank you for sharing Monty Roberts. Amazing! and what a beautiful horse. How can anyone give a thumbs down.....so ungrateful.
This was amazing to watch
Thank you
This just turned up in my feed and honestly wow what a gentle voice
It's always better to have the animal's co operation! Well done sir!
Hell, I've watched this and Monty has such a quiet and calm and reassuring voice that I'm writing this in my sleep.
The guy is a star and a genius.
I've read both of his books, incredible .... I use all of his methods on my horses, and they work amazingly !!! 😍😍🤗🤗😁
This video makes me so happy! You see people tying horses up and not comforting them, taking days for the horse to get used to it but this method is just soooo sweet! :)
That was beautifully done!
Great video!
I love your technique and gentleness!!
Have to wonder about what a person is thinking when they give a thumbs down to Monty. He has had such a massive positive impact on the horse industry over the years. How can you not love this guy?
This guy is an absolute legend 👏🏻💯💎
Such a quiet voice. He really understands horses. I enjoyed his autobiography so much.
This guy is amazing!!
Thank you thank you thank you for not using bits! Your horse language is spot on! Totally in tune with the horse. Keep doing what you're doing - you're an amazing man!
what a cute horse! awesome video!
His training method is great! He never intimidates the horse or hurts it to make it do what he wants. We need more trainers like this, especially when teaching young horses.
Yes! Someone that knows how to do things!!! Working WITH the horse instead of being the big bad wolf
You're like the Bob Ross to horses 😂😂
Love your work, Monty! I read your books and used your methods with my first ever Horse (got hubby up into the saddle), and Pi was as quiet and as willing as this girl
FINALLY someone who does not WHIP the horse over and over•~•
Monte is God's gift to horses. Thank you Monte for loving them as I do.
