Hi Ali from California! Good luckwith your citrus! Webought our house over 40 years ago and it had 2 beautiful orange trees growing on it! We still have them and the fruit are just now turning orange! We get alot of sprouts at the bottom that we call SUCKERs because they suck the nutrients out so we trim them off. They will develop large thorns on them if you leave them.
As a film buff I’d recommend a couple of great old films you may not have seen but are considered classics: Casablanca, The Quiet Man, Rear Window, White Christmas and The Third Man. You might just find that you will develop a love for older films. The best Scorsese film ever is about the beginning of the cinema.It is called Hugo. It’s absolute perfection. And it’s an homage to the art of film. One of my favorites.

Always a good idea to wear some safety glasses even when trimming hedges as the brash flies everywhere. We have separate Stihl units as they get a lot of regular use but this is a good brand for commercial and some domestic use. Nothing better than a good days work outside. Please share how you stay so clean and tidy after all that work.

"The Talented Mr. Ripley" is a classic, great film...one of my all-time favs!

Hi Ali, love your vids, with the hedge it’s called laying when they chop into the trunks. Overtime the foliage at the bottom dies away and becomes sparse so laying every 10 years or so will help it stay solid at the bottom.

Given that you've got a bat roost in your roof, in all likelihood there could be bats in that hollow tree, as well as the ivy on the trees!
'hedge laying' is the traditional method of field hedge management you were trying to think of. Your local Wildlife Trust may well put on hedge laying events where you can go and learn how to do it. But you would need taller growth in order to have long lengths to lay down. Laying the hedge would thicken it up, whereas regular cutting will make it grow leggy. x

Really enjoyed your vlog. Some much so, that I subscribed to your channel. Such a pleasure to see your maintenance of the woodland on your property. FYI: Suckers are a tree's attempt to grow more branches, often in response to some kind of injury. If the roots have been damaged, suckers may grow from the base of the trunk. ... Many trees sucker more as they grow old and start to decay. They also can result from a disease or pest.

Our cat would eat on top of the kitchen cupboard..especially to avoid the dogs… food on a plate works too ..ours didn’t like eating from a bowl where their whiskers hit the side of the bowl .

We also have a custom with bonfires in Hellas🇬🇷
In our country it takes places mostly at Christmas Eve and to other areas the celebrations last until Epiphany.
We don’t have fireworks but we dance around the fire!
It is an ancient pagan custom that survived.

What happened to your other kitty
Ali, Porter should not be still doing his business in the house at 1 year old. Lots of positive reinforcement and patience from you both should get this eliminated in 48 hrs. All my dogs were house trained literally in a week. My last dog, we bought loads of puppy pads and she used about 2 and then she was asking out at the back door. Danner are great boots, always wanted a pair of them.

Give your cat what you eat yourself. Cats and dogs naturally digest well the same food as we eat. I would get rid of all cat and dog food. They need good bacteria in their bodies that come from natural products not artificial ones. 🙏
Love your videos. I just don't agree with the fireworks scaring the birds, and wild life in the area. Rather spend the money on buying tinned food in the supermarkets to put in the bin/basket for the homeless, or the money to an animal shelter. Anyway just my thoughts. Love everything else in your video.

Not very environmental healthy, the bonfires, are they? All that smoke and pollution...not to say the fireworks are not safe either....I have a friend, an unlit one exploded in his face exactly when he went to check it out, he was in a coma for two weeks and he needed plastic surgery....
