@@vicky_skatesI played drums for Part One. We had never even heard of 'deathrock' until a couple of decades ago. At the time we were regarded as an Anarcho-Punk band. As we're our friends Peni.
Actually, to clear up any ambiguity, at the time this record was recorded "Goth" as a youth cult or music genre term didn't exist and it was all just "punk" albeit, as rightly said above, with a "dark feel". Thanks to all for your kind words and support over the years. We're gigging again this summer. CL, PART1 drummer.
This band is just on another level. It's really a shame they never got to record more material besides this and the excellent pictures of pain LP but their influence can be heard in many other fantastic bands like slimy member, cemetery, funeral parade pdx, pawns etc...
If you search for PART1 CLAWS SCUMFEST, PART1 CORPSE REBELLION or PART1 POWER LUNCHES you can see recent videos and more if you see 'Sparky Diamond's other uploads. Enjoy.....
Agreed. As far as 80s stuff goes I didn’t think it got any better than RUDIMENTARY PENI, and I still think I enjoy their records more overall than nearly any other band, but these fuckers deserve just as much recognition as RP. No surprise the two groups were friends, you can tell they were channeling the same miserable Thatcher-era UK vibes.
Who would dislike this? This is one of the greatest punk EPs ever.
deathrock but yea

@@chrislow7817 I’ve very curious how marks guitar sound was achieved could you impart any wisdom on that for me
@@michaelpolen8229I’ve spoken to their singer, Jake, he told me that Mark was influenced by John McKay from the early formation of the Banshees
criminally underrated. excellent dark feel while still maintaining that punk edge. perfect.
Exactly You Just Defined Goth !!! Call it What it is GOTH !!! This Is Goth NOT Punk Just has a Punk edge !!! Get Over it !!!

chris low Come to Oakland, you’ll be well received. Thanks for all the amazing noise
Well this is Deathrock, a combination of Goth and Punk, so... Both of you need to take a seat.
@@chrislow7817 Denying the fact that you’re Goth is literally the gothiest thing you can do. Welcome to the club.
