I think they can really only re-theme French Street. No other Illumination property fits as far as area theming: Rango, Sing, Hop, Migration… and the big properties that remain are being utilized. Despicable Me, Super Mario, Secret Life of Pets and even looking ahead the next few years with films, theres no new Illumination properties. Plus their VIP tour restaurant Moulin Rouge fits the theme of the area. They would have to change that with an expansion and they probably wont want it kid based/themed. I think they need to reimagine the street and redesign it but maintain what it is and get more character actors in the area. It should feel alive. Another reason they probably wont put an attraction there is because hidden between French Street and Secret Life of Pets is like mini HR/employee offices up on the second floor in the Persian courtyard. I like that its an open area with seated areas and tables, I think that takes some volume stress off the park.
Given that Minions 3 is releasing next summer now, this is the perfect opportunity for Universal to re do French Street into Minion Street, plus the Persian Courtyard could be demolished and the Sing on Tour show from Japan and Beijing could be built giving the park another show, Minion Street could come first then the Sing show next
NOOOO dont touch Persian Courtyard/Front Street!!!! Minions already has enough space, keep it as is, it's sooo beautiful. Plus that area is always used for HHN anyways so no reason to retheme it. It's not big enough to make it a new IP/property so keep it as is I say!! 👏
I have to say I respectfully disagree, French Street and Persian Courtyard are very out of place in the park, and I think Illumination deserves to be in its spot
