thank you so much for all of the details! i really hope that i can find someone to clean and maybe partially restore it! i wish it played (but then again i don't know what i'm doing anyway!) but i don't think i could get it restored to working order and still have the rotten looking key, which i really do like. anyway i basically wanted to thank you for taking the time to write me the detailed info! if i get someone to partially restore i'll look for the date & reed sets!
that's my FAVORITE antique store there! but they are so so so so so so expensive that it kind of breaks my heart. 10x more expensive then any antique mall around me! ahhhhh!
Just to let you know, the antique piano you were looking at in this vblog is not a piano at all. This is a foot action pump organ. These were initially made between 1850 and 1920. Those two foot pedals are used to move bellows which force air through certain stops which are activated by those knobs she pointed out. Those shelves she pointed out were for kerosene lamps. The two at the top by the mirror were used to refract the light from the mirror to light a room. the two round spots at the music stand were used to light up the sheet music which was to be played.. By the looks of this one I would say it was between 1850 and 1890's era. Looks in good condition. Hopefully the mice did not destroy the bellows.
WOW!@6:08 there is a painting of our church ( I'm from the Czech republic - Europe) The church is called Hostyn and it is believed to have magic powers...
eh this might be weird but sometimes when I feel really shitty or lonely I watch one of your videos and feel so much better after. so thank you for making videos and spending some of your life talking to us all :D
This is a harmonium; probably early 1800s, it is obviously not in working order and would have to be restored and could probably have rodents in the interior and much damage from prior insects and pests. Definitely not a real good find for someone who is not in the business of restoring old pump organs; harmoniums.
Omg bunny! I have this piano in my house except mine is a brown color. It was restored 35 years ago. I love it! You should buy it!!!! My piano doesn't work but it is an awesome deco piece.
My grandma had one of those!!! It's a pump organ. You pump the organ with your feet filling up the bellows and you pull the buttons to change the tones of the keys. It would take some work to get it restored, you'd have to shop around really good to see if it even can be restored, but it could! Don't buy it until you see if your able to get it restored Bunny.
I so desperately want to see a room tour of your house! It seems like it would be the coolest place in the world. I wouldn't worry about people judging you or your collections, i mean the people here in the swamp family clearly love you to bits, taxidermy, fur and craziness included! :)
I wish I had an antique mall like that in my area! I have my deceased paternal grandfather's 48 star American Flag and also a letter from my Great, Great, Great Uncle from when he was in the Civil War to his wife in July 1862. It's AMAZING! He talks about how horrible the surroundings of war are, how much he adores and misses his wife and even ask how his horse and pig are doing. It's like an entire Civil War movie in one letter. I'll have to message you a pic!!! Love you Bunny!!! Muah, Amy :)
Hey bunny, I'm a music nerd and also study it in college but the difference between an organ and a piano is that a piano is a percussion instrument that makes music depending on how hard you play the keys. Whereas, the volume produced on an organ depends on the number and types of stops which are active and the amount of air blown through them. You can see the stops above the keys! So that's an organ! Thumbs up so she can see! :)
It's an organ! I love organs, especially the old ones. My grandmother used to have one and I'd sit down on the pedals and pump them while she played because she was a tiny tiny woman.
omg its so amazing. I play piano and have done that in 5 years now and i have never seeing a piano like that! I need it, its so beautiful! it would be so amazing playing on it... my new dream!
What i do is craigslist antique shopping. Hung out in a hot barn today...found some cool stuff dirt cheap. Antique malls are usually a little on the pricey side for me. Bought an old school desk for my five year old, a child's book from 1944 about a ghost named Georgie, 1/2 pint bottle for my bottle collection and a ball jar with lid for my ball jar collection...:)
Hello Bunny, It's a reed organ, also called a pump organ. They were popular in the late 1800s early 1900s. It is similar to an accordion only the bellows are internal and the sound is created by reeds not strings like a piano.
I just came back from Savannah for my 21st birthday! Our hotel was right down the street from the moon river brew company & we took a tour past the cemetery as well :)
It's a harmonium! Probably made within the first two decades of the 20th century. All the parts look original. It would probably cost like $500 to fully restore (if not more) but it's super cool.
It's a pump organ. My mom has one exactly like that one except still in mint condition that was her grandmother's. They bought it from the old Sear's catalog in like 1908 I think. I asked her and she said there's a piece on the back that's removable, so if you took it to a restoration place it should be pretty easy for them to clean the rat poopies out for you.
We do not have thrift malls here, but they look so awesome. I think you should get the organ for yourself as a birthday present. I'm sure you can find a restoration place, and the organ could go straight from the shop, to there, then to your house. You don't have to get a storage place.
I love antiques! If I had to choose between something new and something old the something old would win. I live in Canada - we have an antique mall around here (just discovered it) but I had never seen one until I went to the US and fell in love with them! Rooms and rooms of old things! Heaven! Buy the old diploma if you like it - so what if you don't know the person. You don't know anyone in the old photos you collect. That kind of stuff is cool.
For some reason I wasn't able to comment on one of your videos. Hopefully this one will go through. What a fun time you had! This video got me dizzy at times. The dress you bought is so cute!! Reminds me of a bohemian look!!
why do i live your vid-joes so much? I'm 32, and my husband looks at me like I'm insane when he hears me watching your videos. He'll randomly say, "Hiiii, it's BUNNY!!!" through the day. :) I dunno. I just wanted to drop by and let you know how much I admire you and enjoy your uniqueness.
OH!! I live in Venezuela and there are plenty of antique stores in here, full with amazing stuff, I've found more than a few things from the 1800!! love you Bunny! XO Els
i live in new zealand and i often visit the antique stores in my area, very interested in old victorian and french pieces. i love your videos! you're so free spirited and inspirational :)
where I live in Australia they have such a great antique store. It sells amazing vintage clothing, furniture, bits and bobs and just everything you can think of. It has multiple rooms and is amazing. You would love it.
i think it is a cool piece to have and I agree it needs to be cleaned.. thanks for sharing your trip to the antique mall place as always your awesome...
In Australia, like where I live we don't have like stores dedicated to antiques. We have like auctions just dedicated to antiques and then there's this place just where like all like old junk goes and you can find some cool stuff there sometimes. :)
We have quite a few antique malls and flea markets here in ontario, canada. I love going to them! The mark of a pro antiquer - always carrying hand sanitizer!!! My friends always ask me why I have an obsession with always having wet-naps and hand sanitizers, because you never know when you're going to find an antique store!
That's actually a harmonium, Bunny! It's very similar to an organ, but it doesn't have pipes or reeds. There are people out there who restore harmoniums, but it's probably really expensive.
Love this! I work at a Thrift Store in Alaska called 'Bargain Basement'. It's like 10 rooms of AWESOME. I think about you everyday at one point when something cool comes in! I adore your videods!
I live on a small town in KY and we actually have several places like that called peddler malls .. I love going to them too.. I really liked this video. Thanks!
I would love it if you did a room tour/house tour! I'm so interested to see how you've decorated it Also, maybe you could have a meet n greet in Austin for your birthday or around your birthday?
Oh my grandmother gave me the piano. It is actually a foot pedal organ and the knobs pull out for the various organ noises. However, my organ/piano doesn't work but totally rocks in my library room. ;)
This appears to be a western harmonium/parlor organ of the aerophone family. It is a pedal pumped free Reed instrument and it holds its tune really well. They were most popular 1870-1915 and were used in several Beatles songs. This one does seem to be in less than perfect condition and it could cost $400-1000 to professionally clean/tune it. This one was most likely made in the early 1900s. Full upright ones like this are rare, and I think you should get it. With a full out refurbishing,
Me again... Bahahaha!!! The mason guy you bought is actually a Shriner. A Shriner is a higher branch of the Masonic Lodge. The Shiners have the hospital in Ohio that provides free medical care to children. They are a terrific organization.
Bunny if you ever did a house tour.....which you totally should!...I picture your house looking like the haunted mansion at disney! Tons of antiques and a bunch of awesome stuff!
We don't have them here in the uk... We have like tiny thrift stores.. But there like charity shops. Love these vids! Have to be careful that the organ doesn't have woodworm too! Passes to anything wood in your house
I think if you enjoy antiquing alone, you should do that for your birthday! just pamper yourself, get dinner and drinks with a couple friends or your family or whatever. :)
Totally an organ. I do play piano, but I also worked in a museum that had two old organs like that. They also had a 150 year old piano there which still played! Neither of the organs played but still, full of awesome. Surefire way of telling if you're not experienced with music is to look at the foot pedals. Piano pedals will never look like that :)
antique shops are sooooooooooooooooooo cool! I bought an entire old school wizard of oz lil doll set from one before. they are soo old and smell old but thats soo cool to me :3
God that ending xD!!! Bunny is even more hilarious in chipmunk. That Harmonium looked beautiful! (despite rat poop xD) I wish you would do more videos like this. I loove vintage things myself so its great to see you enjoying vintage things too and being passionate about them
Me and you seriously have the same taste in antiques. I love old Victorian furniture and home decor. I would genuinely love to see your home and cabinet of curiosities! I'm very interested. c:
It's a pump organ. And despite the missing keys and possible rodent droppings, it's in amazing condition. The fact that none of the carvings have beem broken off and are missing is outstanding. There's always room to bargain at an antique mall. Shoot them a cash offer for the amount you're comfortable with and see what happens.
Antique stores exists in Norway too, but I think auctions and flee markets are more common here. People actually give away pretty amazing stuff to flee markets here.
No problem! I go to a Youth Performing Arts High School for piano and I had to write an essay on harmoniums freshman year. I'm glad I could help..... does this mean you are getting it? :) Even if you can't restore it to working order, I still think you should get it. It's awesome.
Oh man, get that piano/organ! so cool that it is a little hutch, too, so very practical, really. Try to find a disaster cleaning service that can go to the stall and delouse before it is moved. You know, the people who clean cars that have had dead bodies in them...they would know how to deal w/droppings safely.
I wish we had antique shops like that in england! We have second hand furniture shops (my parents used to own one haha) and charity shops, both of which are nothing like that.
does anyone else love the sound her shoes make when shes walking or is it just me????? lmao
Yeeeeees, I thought I was just weird haha
No I did too xD It made me think of what Sims sound like when they walk xD
thank you so much for all of the details! i really hope that i can find someone to clean and maybe partially restore it! i wish it played (but then again i don't know what i'm doing anyway!) but i don't think i could get it restored to working order and still have the rotten looking key, which i really do like. anyway i basically wanted to thank you for taking the time to write me the detailed info! if i get someone to partially restore i'll look for the date & reed sets!
Did anyone else get really happy when they saw the Fred and Ginger ornaments at 6:16! Made my day
that's my FAVORITE antique store there! but they are so so so so so so expensive that it kind of breaks my heart. 10x more expensive then any antique mall around me! ahhhhh!
It is an organ, and those "button things" are called stops. They control the tone, volume, etc.

I would love it if you did a room tour/house tour! I'm so interested to see how you've decorated it
Also, maybe you could have a meet n greet in Austin for your birthday or around your birthday?

Yes, Room tour please. If you wish to do one. It would be interesting to see the jiggly door handle, or maybe your oddity cabinet :3
Oh my grandmother gave me the piano. It is actually a foot pedal organ and the knobs pull out for the various organ noises. However, my organ/piano doesn't work but totally rocks in my library room. ;)

room tour! i would be so curious to see what your room looks like! love you bunny!
Totally an organ. I do play piano, but I also worked in a museum that had two old organs like that. One of them even had an epic lantern/lamp holder..I can't remember if it was oil or it there was a place for a candle but either way, it was cool. antique shops are sooooooooooooooooooo cool!

I watch the tea vlogs mostly for the moment when you take a drink, haha!
I've seen a couple in England like that but more crammed with old stuff.. Pretty cool actually..
Me and you seriously have the same taste in antiques. I love old Victorian furniture and home decor. I would genuinely love to see your home and cabinet of curiosities! I'm very interested. c:
It always sounds like you say "Hey everybunny, it's bunny" I love it. I tell myself that's what you say.
