Don't love how this went to race. Who across the five racial categories of the United States wasn't covered by a conversation like this? I'm pretty sure a lot of groups and family units are not afraid of teaching sex education. Most ethnic groups should have their own culture and each family unit even within an extended family will handle things differently.

But at the same time we can't pretend that young teens are completely oblivious to sexual pleasure and attraction. We can't prevent kids this age from having sex, it always happened and will always hapen, but we can try to ensure that they have the knowledge to experience it a safe way and create an open as well as caring environment in which they feel comfortable talking to their support system when they are in distress without having to fear being shamed.

But, on the chance they do, they will at least know how to protect themselves. You're not talking to them and showing them different positions and how to do it. We talked to our kids early, the older they got the more detailed information became if they asked us questions.

@@l0v3lyniaa No, I was thinking more like he taught her well to respect herself and to do that when she is ready with someone who means a lot to her and she can really trust. Not to rush into it, just because counter to your view, society seems to expect people to lose their virginity very early on and most people feel pressured to do it before they are really ready. Girls carry a large amount of responsibility when it comes to sex seeing as they are the ones who get pregnant. Rushing into it just to get it over with is risky and unfulfilling and I would never want that for my daughter. I would want her to be happy with her decision. Though I would say the same for boys as well. I think it should be a meaningful experience and not just something you do to get it over with so you can say you did it.

@@l0v3lyniaa I mean it felt a little bit like you were looking to start an argument over an assumption of my statement. Though if that is the case I understand the thinking. I was raised religious and everyone is taught to save themselves for marriage but from what I've heard the girls hear this a lot more frequently. Again, likely because of the added responsibility. However this view is frequently taught without any other preparation for understanding how it really works and how to do it safely. Growing up I had a lot of questions that my parents would never want to talk about so most of my early views of sex unfortunately came from porn. This quickly developed into a 10 year long addiction. Eventually I decided I needed to learn a healthier view of sex. I couldn't handle the back and forth in my mind between the extreme carelessness that appears in porn and the extreme ignorance that I had been taught. Nor could I handle the shame I felt about these very natural feelings. So I started to look into forums and professional articles to find out what kinds of things are actually important to know. Over time I grew more comfortable with the topic and even started openly talking to people about it. I personally see sex as a very intimate and personal experience that shouldn't just be given to anyone. But I also don't believe that waiting for marriage is always necessarily the right choice for everyone. I do see the value in choosing to do so, and I do believe it shows that value that I believe in, but I can also see situations where it would beneficial to experience that before getting married because marriage is meant to be a commitment and everyone has different preferences and experiences with sex. If those don't match up the frustration can make that part of the marriage hard for a lot of people. Especially when they weren't taught much about it in the first place. I think education should be the number 1 priority.

For me as a guy this was just too far idk what type of dad does that with their daughter like. This isn't about getin close having a Father/daughter bond that's straight up weird n creepy.
I think being interviewed would push them to try to look better to the world, so they would be super supportive. Not to say they wouldn't be naturally, it's just when the cameras are on you it's next level.

I grew up religious. It was very taboo to talk about such things even in the home, let alone on camera for millions of people to see. It's not really possible for most of these people to have an open dialogue about sex because it is expected you aren't having it and won't until you're married. Anything else is unacceptable.

I’m really happy with how openly Jubilee embraces sex education in these videos. The viewer experience seeing real people and their stories about sex makes the whole education of it all seem very natural and beautiful which I find great as a virgin who didn’t know half of this stuff a few years ago.

This is so sweet. It actually made me choke up because I definitely don't have this kind of relationship with either of my parents, and my partner isn't like this with our kids either. I talk, joke, discuss all kinds of topics with my teen boys. Consent, safe sex, communicating about sex with a partner, being thoughtful and kind and knowing they deserve the same in return.

My initial sex Ed came from a Dr. Spock book published in the 1960’s. My parents kept it in the headboard of their bed frame. When they were out, and my sisters were babysitting me, I would sneak into my parents room ( my parents always kept their door closed) and I would read it. We still to this day never talk about sex.

Tbh, I wish there was a website with an online psychological test to tell you if you're ready or not for sex. I know so many teens (including me) who did it just because they felt peer pressured or pressured by their boyfriend. Same for young adults tbh. You need to actually want to do it for yourself with certainty that you're not going to lose your dignity or self-esteem.

The vast majority of modern feminists that I've seen are pretty extreme. I am all for women's rights and having them be equal but a lot of what I hear from the modern movement is way over the top. Women are already very close to if not completely equal to men in the US. I'm not saying there aren't still some issues to work out but that argument is getting really old. That being said I would watch that video if they made it to hear others opinions.
