I have two horses and I'm curious if you know any trick on the engagement pins the engine moves up and down on. I had trouble on both tiller getting the pins freed up as they were rusted up to being frozen. I am curious if they should be highly polished or even chromed.

Hi Eric, the first one I restored had rust frozen pins. I freed them using a propane torch to get them as hot as possible then spraying WD-40 while it was still hot, and this was able to draw the oil gap around the pin. I then used a rubber hammer to get them to move. The pins are not chrome plated. I cleaned them up with a wire wheel and filled the pits with autobody filler. Sanded them smooth and generous axle grease and have never had a problem since. I hope this helps.

Hi, the tire size is 4.8 - 4.0 / 8, and I purchased them on E-bay. Good Luck with the restoration.

How did you get the time carriers of ?

They were slightly rust welded on. I used penetrating oil that I let sit for a day then an adjustable gear puller. When I replaced it I used lots of grease just in case I had to remove them again.
